  • In Japanese

  • In the English dub, only Kazuma is voiced by a new actor (Arnie Pantoja). The rest are all well established.
  • Ditto in the Latin American Spanish dub, when only Wendy Malvárez (Megumin) is the only voice actor in the cast with very few roles in her profile.
• Amateur Cast: In the European Spanish dub, basically all the main cast is formed by rookie voice actors, some of them debuting as professional voice actors in this series.
• Banned in China: The series has been pulled out of Chinese streaming sites due to starring Ai Kayano, who tweeted about "nice air" in Yasukuni Shrine (which reveres soldiers who fought for Japan, including Imperial Japanese soldiers who committed atrocities such as Nanking and Unit 731) in February 2021.
• Defictionalization: Remember the Axis Cult? There's a site for it now.
• Directed by Cast Member: In the Latin American Spanish dub, Javier Olguín is the ADR Director and Kazuma Sato's voice actor.
• Dueling Shows:
  • The first season duels with fellow light novels Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash and Re:Zero, all of which based on a Trapped in Another World premise.
  • The second season is this with Interviews with Monster Girls and Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid. Made even more apparent with the fact that most people expected the second season to be the comedy anime of the season and no one was really looking forward to the other two... until they began airing.
• God Never Said That: In a footnote at the end of Volume 10, after Season 2 of the anime was finished, Natsume Akatsuki said that Studio DEEN had stopped working on Konosuba. Many fans interpreted this as meaning the show was officially cancelled. He later clarified that they just stopped actively producing the anime, and were willing to pick it back up at a later time. However, the damage had been done, and many fans still believe that there won't be any more anime... despite Studio DEEN officially saying they were working on a new Konosuba anime project. In the end, Akatsuki's words turned out to be Exact Words, as the Legend of Crimson movie was produced by J.C. Staff.
• Marth Debuted in "Smash Bros.":
  • The various Crimson Demons introduced in the fifth volume of the light novels (where the party visits Megumin's hometown) proved to be so popular with Japanese fans that a spinoff novel series called God's Explosion On This Wonderful World!, which chronicles Megumin and Yunyun's childhoods and goes into detail about several Noodle Incidents was written. However, the first volume of the spinoff series reached American shores at the same time as that of the main novels thanks to the light novel boom of 2015, resulting in the Crimson Demons officially being introduced to America before the official translation of the light novel they made their actual debut in or the theatrical adaptation of said novel were officially released.
  • Thanks to getting cut from the anime’s adaptation of the fourth light novel for season two, Cecily and Zesta make their animated debut in the seventh episode of the adaptation for Megumin’s spinoff God's Explosion On This Wonderful World!.
• The Other Darrin:
  • The Drama CDs featured Ryōta Ōsaka as Kazuma, Kaori Fukuhara as Aqua, Maaya Uchida as Megumin, Marina Inoue as Darkness, Saori Hayami as Wiz, Kana Hanazawa as Yunyun and Kosuke Toriumi as Kyoya. For their anime debut, they were respectively replaced by Jun Fukushima, Sora Amamiya, Rie Takahashi, Ai Kayano, Yui Horie, Aki Toyosaki and Takuya Eguchi.
  • The English dub of Isekai Quartet (which was dubbed in Texas) had Vanir voiced by Anthony Bowling. In the English dub of KonoSuba (which was dubbed in L.A.), he is voiced by Robbie Daymond.
  • Emi Lo temporarily replaces Kayli Mills as Yunyun in the third episode Explosions spinoff for unknown reasons.
• Playing Against Type:
  • Sora Amamiya is known for voicing cold but good-hearted characters like Akame and Touka. Here, she plays Aqua, who is immature, idiotic, and a Bitch in Sheep's Clothing. The same trope also applies to Faye Mata, who is known for getting cast as Genki Girls like Rin Hoshizora and Astolfo (though the latter's gender is dubious, to say the least).
  • Ai Kayano got her fame from playing Emotionless Girls. "Emotionless" is about the last word someone would use to describe Darkness. So did Cristina Vee, who usually voices Tsunderes like Mio from K-On!, Broken Birds like Homura from Puella Magi Madoka Magica and Nice Girls like Noel from BlazBlue.
• Real-Life Relative: Ryze and Laina are voiced by real-life married couple Matt Shipman and Brittany Lauda in the English dub.
• Schedule Slip: The English dub for the Legend of Crimson movie was supposed to be released in April 2020, but then came the COVID-19 Pandemic. After an eight-month delay, the dub was finally released on New Year's Day 2021.
• Sleeper Hit: Before the anime aired, many wrote it off as yet another generic light novel harem and the fact that Studio DEEN was working on it didn't help matters either, not to mention that it was only scheduled to have 10 episodes rather than the usual 12. However after the first episode aired people were surprised at how funny the show actually ended up being and loved its charming brand of self-aware parody humor, especially when many "trapped in a video game" anime usually take themselves far more seriously. It was one of the most well received anime in the Winter 2016 season and it absolutely dominated the sales charts in Japan, and a second season was announced at the end of the final episode.
• Star-Making Role:
  • Kazuma for Jun Fukushima and Megumin for Rie Takahashi.
  • Kazuma is also shaping up to be the star-making role for Arnie Pantoja, his English voice actor.
  • Ditto in the Latin American Spanish dub for Wendy Malvarez, Megumin's voice actress.
• Throw It In!:
  • Apparently Kazuma's Japanese voice actor has been doing quite a lot of adlibbing, sometimes even causing a bit of confusion among the rest of the cast during recording. The scene in which Kazuma pulls Megumin's eyepatch is also adlibbed.
  • The greatest example being that the "Yes I'm Kazuma" Running Gag was completely ad-libbed. This was something that was long suspected by the fandom since the first season debuted in 2016 (because the line never appears in the light novels), but it wasn't until shortly before the Legend of Crimson movie was released in summer 2019 when Jun Fukushima confirmed it was indeed an ad-lib.
  • Almost all of Megumin's incantations were ad libbed by her voice actress. During recording for the incantations, Takahashi Rie was given free reign to come up with whatever over-the-top cooler-than-cool drawn out lines she could up with to parodise fantasy spell incantations. Even the staff have admitted to laughing their heads off at what she came up with during recording sessions.
• You Sound Familiar: In the anime, Hitomi Nabatame initially voiced Sena and would later go on to appear as Chomusuke, Megumin's familiar.
