  • Distanced from Current Events: After the death of a performer during the "Battlefield" sequence, the show went on hiatus until July 16 as the company and authorities began to investigate the disaster. Given that so much of the show's Spectacle involves characters falling, sometimes to their doom, it's understandable. When it reopened, the Battlefield sequence was completely dropped and the ending retooled. The sequence was later restored with actors projected onto the scene instead, but it was fully reinstated in late 2014. This also affected Michael Jackson: ONE, another Vegas Cirque show that opened the same night, in that the company did not update its official site or YouTube and Facebook pages with news on that show's launch and afterparty.
  • Fatal Method Acting: On June 29, 2013, Sarah Guyard-Guillot fell to the underbelly of the stage area during the climactic Wire Fu sequence. Her injuries proved fatal, making her the first Cirque performer to die from an onstage mishap. As a result, the show went on hiatus and tweaked the show to remove the stunt for at least a year.
