• Inspiration for the Work: Creator John Payson said that watching an airing of the movie Twilight of the Cockroaches led him to wondering how they'd react to a modern New York bachelor, which led to the creation of the original short. The full film also has quite a similar plot to the anime, though played more comedically and in less of a sci-fi fashion.
