Trivia / JoJo's Circus

Go To

  • Cross-Regional Voice Acting: Madeleine Martin recorded her lines for Jojo in New York while the rest of the cast did their roles in Toronto.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: The show only had two out of print DVD releases containing 4 episodes each (Take A Bow and Animal A Go-Go), a very rare VHS tape containing the episodes "The Circus Shh-Shh" and "The Little Top Boogie Band", and episodes on compilation releases ("A Circus Town Christmas" on the 2005 DVD "A Very Playhouse Disney Holiday" "The Spudinski's New Act" on "Higglytown Heroes: On The Move" and "A Clown Ride" on "Higglytown Heroes: Heroes To The Rescue"). The show was last seen on Disney Junior in 2014, and it has yet to come to Disney+ (if at all).
  • Playing Against Type: A writer example - just like with Little Bear, it may surprise some to learn that Suzanne Collins was a writer for this show, credited for at least five different stories in the first season. Yes, that Suzanne Collins.
  • Screwed by the Network: The show was Adored by the Network at first, being given a Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade balloon, its own merchandise line, and sneak previews before it aired. Sadly, it got the kibosh after its third season, which only consisted of five episodes. Reruns returned on the 24/7 Disney Junior channel in 2012; however, like with all other pre-2007 Disney Junior shows (save for Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Little Einsteins), the show was pulled from reruns after a short period on the air. Furthermore, like other shows from Jumbo Pictures / Cartoon Pizza (i.e. Stanley), it has not come to Disney+, possibly due to an ongoing dispute between Disney and that company, who wasn't happy about their characters being used in the video "We Are Family," which they felt had a pro-gay agenda.
  • What Could Have Been: According to an early animation test, the show was originally going to be an All-CGI Cartoon, Jojo's initial name was Kiki and a chorus of children's voices would answer to her questions rather than having the traditional Beat that is common of Fake Interactivity shows.
