Trivia / Ivan's Childhood

• Actor Allusion: Nikolay Burlyaev (Ivan) is seen in this film ringing a bell. He would, four years later, play the character of Boriska - who shall build a giant bell - in Andrei Tarkovsky's next feature, Andrei Rublev.
• Colbert Bump: One morning in 2009, Turner Classic Movies accidentally got its transmission screwed up with fellow Turner-owned station Cartoon Network as its [adult swim] block was ending, resulting in the first few minutes of the film being shown on CN (though it was listed as Tom and Jerry) and more than a few nightowls watching the channel at the time discovering the film for themselves.
