Trivia / Don't Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro
aka: Ijiranaide Nagatoro San

Go To

  • Dueling Works: The Nagatoro manga came out in a wave of other currently publishing "teasing girl" manga like Teasing Master Takagi-san (which is set in middle school and is considerably more lighthearted), Yancha Gal no Anjou-san (which is similarly set in high school, but less reliant on bullying), Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! (which deals with young adults in college), and Gal Gohan (which is also set in high school and is considerably lewder, with the girl going after her teacher). Interestingly, while Takagi-san was the first of the list to get published, the Pixiv Nagatoro image-sets actually predate all of them by several years, so it could be considered their spiritual progenitor. Nagatoro is also the most aggressive in tone, although not necessarily the darkest, of the bunch. And the original image-sets are darker than all of them, and can be seen as an unusually twisted prefigurement of them.
  • Fan Works: Besides the fan-translations of the manga and Pixiv stuff (including a mini-RPG, Escape From The Room With My Kouhai), some of the image-sets were further converted into Visual Novel form. It helps that one image-set is drawn like one already, down to the dialogue boxes.
  • No Export for You: The bonus publications bundled with special editions of the manga volumes and Blu-ray sets are so far Japan-exclusive, including extra manga stories, artbooks and a whole Official Fanbook guide to the characters and world, so no official translations of these exist so far.
  • Reality Subtext: The recurring It's Not Porn, It's Art themes are extra hilarious when one considers the author's past with explicit doujins.

Random Trivia

  • According to Volume 4 of the anthology (the official Volume 8 fanbook) Nagatoro-san is set in a western coastal town of the Miura Peninsula at Kanagawa Prefecture, facing Sagami Bay. The peninsula is located on the west side of Tokyo Bay and it's south of the cities of Tokyo and Yokohama. It's not known whether the town in Nagatoro-san is part of Tokyo proper. The establishing shots of the anime adaptation further show the coastal location of their town, which is not as explored in the manga.
