- Box Office Bomb: Budget, $65 million. Gross, $19,075,290 (domestic), $71,154,592 (worldwide).
- California Doubling: Set somewhere in the USA, but filmed in Melbourne, Australia.
- Completely Different Title:
- Brazil: Frankenstein: Between Angels and Demons
- India: The Flying Grave Man
- Turkey: Frankenstein: War of the Immortals
- Not Screened for Critics
- Star-Derailing Role: Aaron Eckhart was already going through a career slump with several critically panned (Battle: Los Angeles, The Rum Diary, Olympus Has Fallen) or financially underperforming (Rabbit Hole) films, after gaining much praise for his work in Thank You for Smoking and The Dark Knight. I, Frankenstein became both a critical and financial failure, killing Eckhart's career at the moment. Besides reprising his Olympus role in its 2016 sequel London Has Fallen and co-starring opposite Tom Hanks in that same year's Sully, he hasn't starred in any successful projects. To date, this remains the last major blockbuster he headlined.
- What Could Have Been: Originally, the film would have had a post credit scene featuring Selene from Underworld (2003) to tease a potential crossover between the two. There would also have been a few Easter eggs to the series as well, making I, Frankenstein a spin-off.
