• What Could Have Been: The supplement went through several rewrites, with factions changing several times:
  • The People's Guard initially were named the Cold Guard, and were an Anti-Magical Faction founded by human survivors from the Kingdom's fall who hunted Nobles and other benevolent supernaturals because they believed using magic to positive ends reinforced the Darkness in the process. This concept was dropped because it was believed the Cold Guard wouldn't be easy to sympathize with due to their motives being rather nonsensical.
  • The Light Company started out as a Conspiracy named the Crown Jewels with a much bigger influence and Sworn as their Endowment. They also were distinctly shadier, often operating in the Nobles' back trying to manipulate them in what they thought was the best course of action. They were eventually retooled as a Compact of Bequest-seeking mercenaries because it was decided Sworns were too isolated and lacking enough organization to build a Conspiration and have that kind of influence.
