• Creator's Favorite: Of all the cast members, Ohtake mentions he liked Mao the best overall, Takashi the most of Hina's original classmates, and Adachi the most of her high school classmates.
• Irony as She Is Cast: Used to comedic effect in the dub, where Funimation cast Amanda Lee, who made her fame as possibly the most famous English-speaking anime cover artist on YouTube, as Anzu. People who didn't watch the sub and saw her character prompted to sing expected something that was... not what they got.
• What Could Have Been: The final volume sheds some light on character origins:
  • Nitta was originally going to be an ordinary salaryman, but because Ohtake couldn't figure out how to incoprorate psychic powers into a standard corporate setting, he changed into a yakuza.
  • Oyabun's backstory explained that he had a daughter who was estranged from him because she despises the yakuza. His granddaughter by her was supposed to make an appearance in the story, but she could never be worked into a chapter right, so she was cut.
  • Utako had an entire backstory cut out. She was supposed to have run away from a Christian boarding school in her youth, and had a Disappeared Dad who died a homeless man. The only thing that remains visually from this is the fact that Utako wears a cross necklace.
  • Ohtake mentions about 2 volumes' worth of chapters focused on Mami and her club exploits, but all of them were shelved.
  • The Class president, at one point, was supposed to fall in love with Toujirou contrary to her type.
  • Haru started off as another psychic girl, but thinking of the Unfortunate Implications of all principal espers being little girls, he was quickly changed into a boy instead.
  • Atsushi was originally named "Akira" in the initial drafts.
  • Ikaruga was originally drafted as a far future version of Hitomi.
• Word of God:
  • Sabu is actually one of four brothers. Central Park member Shirou is his younger brother, while his two older brothers Ichirou and Jirou kidnapped Hina early in the series.
