Trivia / Hard to Kill

Go To

  • Completely Different Title: In Spain, the film was called DifĂcil de Matar, or "Difficult to Kill."
  • Creator Backlash: Kelly LeBrock had pretty much retired from acting at the time and only did the movie as a favor for her husband. In retrospect, she calls the movie "Hard to Watch" or "Hard to Believe".
  • Hostility on the Set: Steven Seagal did not get along with Bruce Malmuth and considered him to be a very poor director, stating in a 1990 interview "I think it's a miracle that this guy can put one foot in front of the other." Chief among Seagal's complaints included dissatisfaction with filming the action scenes and being excluded from the editing process.
  • Missing Trailer Scene: The theatrical trailer shows three deleted scenes; Trent saying "He's toast, do you understand" to his men, Storm saying "Take that to the bank" line (after he kills Trent in alternate ending) and parts of original ending which had Storm, Andy and Sonny at a funeral for O'Malley.
  • Similarly Named Works: Shares a title with a Yukari Oshima film, released a year after.
  • Working Title: The movie was filmed with the title Seven Year Storm and publicized in several trade magazines with that name. Warner Bros. decided to re-title the finished pic Hard to Kill to make it sound more like a slam-bang action film.
