- Reclusive Artist: Hitoshi's wife values her privacy, and thus he's very careful with how she's depicted in the comic. She's also asked him not to share any of her artwork, presumably because she's worried someone might be able to figure out her pen name by the art style. A few strips use this as a gag, with Sanae threatening to end the series if Kogasa oversteps her bounds.
- The Red Stapler: In a strip published in February 2014 that reflected events from an October 2013 convention, a staff of a Ryokan Inn that was mentioned in a November 2010 strip came to "Kogasa"'s booth and mentioned that people had started to come on a "pilgrimage" to that inn
. - Schedule Slip: Rare for a daily web comic. The only major period of slip was an 11-day stretch during mid-October 2011, when the writer claimed to have a backlog of 16 pages of draft. He even tried to remedy the situation by uploading 3 archived strips in the beginning.
- However, it would suffer a pretty nasty one starting in 2021. After strip #3813 in August, it would only get a single extra strip around New Years, but besides that it would literally take a year exactly for #3814 to come out. According to the author, he was taking the year to collect new story material.
- Similarly Named Works: Hang in There, Kogasa-chan!, which is also a Slice of Life Yonkoma comic starring Kogasa Tatara, except in that series it's really Kogasa and not an author stand-in. It predates Hitoshi's series, and he's said that he didn't know it existed when he started his comic. Its author Yuzuna99 has shown up a few times and is always depicted as an even cuter version of Kogasa than Hitoshi's avatar.
