• Actor Allusion: In one episode a couple of ex-NFL players were watching the Super Bowl at the Finnertys' house. One of them said something to the effect of "I love watching it here! It's like I'm actually there on the field!"
• Channel Hop: The series aired on Fox for 2 seasons, then was picked up by the WB for the last 3 seasons.
• Dawson Casting: In flashbacks to Sean, Eddie & Claudia's teenage years, the characters were still played by their regular actors.
• Keep Circulating the Tapes: The show didn't air on TV for years until it popped up on Laff from 2016 to the end of 2018. It's available to watch online on Tubi, Film Rise, Vudu, Sling, Amazon Prime Video and Peacock.
• The Other Darrin: In the pilot, Lily B. Goode, Dan O'Keefe was played by a different actor than Gregory Jbara, who played him in all of his other appearances.
• Production Posse: This show was created the guys behind That '70s Show so there were appearances from Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, Danny Masterson, and Wilmer Valderrama. In fact, in the episode where Ashton Kutcher appeared, they even used the Water Tower from That '70s Show!
• Real-Life Relative: One of Eddie's recurring girlfriends, "Crazy" Amy was played by Elizabeth Berridge, the real life wife of Kevin Corrigan, who plays Eddie.
