• Accidentally-Correct Writing: In the author's notes in the light novel he explains that he took the name of the story from his friends who liked to dress in the Goth fashion and that there was no connection between his works and Goth culture. Apparently Otsuichi never realized that many of the details in his stories such as an obsession with morbid themes, mysteries surrounding a set of twins, a girl's strange connection to an animal and the like are all tropes commonly found in proper Gothic Horror stories that predate Goth culture by over a century.
• Referenced by...: In episode 18 of "51 Ways to Save my Girlfriend", the heroine's handbag has a copy of Goth, it's even illustrated with the dark gray cover with a switchblade.
