• The Other Darrin: This occurs to Cassie's daughter-in-law Tara. In her first few appearances she is played by Ashley Leggat, who was reprising the same role from the made-for-TV movies. She is then replaced by Rebecca Dalton for all subsequent appearances.
• Real Life Writes the Plot: Bailee Madison decided to leave the show after Season 5 to pursue other acting opportunities, meaning that Grace never got to come back (save a couple of cameos).
