Trivia / Golden Book Video

• Production Posse: Many of the Golden Book Video titles had the animation production done by Animagination Inc.
• Screwed by the Lawyers: Distribution rights to the "Picturemation" Golden Book Videos depend on the properties being adapted. While NBCUniversal owns many of the titles (through Classic Media), WildBrain owns the three Richard Scarry titles ^note 3 Richard Scarry Animal Nursery Tales, Old MacDonald's Farm and Other Animal Tales, and Get Ready For School (through acquiring Cookie Jar Entertainment, producer of both Richard Scarry animated TV shows and acquiring distribution rights to all Richard Scarry animated media), Nelvana owns 3 Tales From the Care Bears and 3 My Pet Monster Tales (as they produced both properties' animated TV shows and their related films), and Sesame Workshop owns the two Sesame Street titles. ^note 3 Sesame Street Stories and 5 Sesame Street Stories
• Uncredited Role: The Golden Book Video titles never credited any of the voice cast members; in most cases one would have to play it by ear to recognize any familiar voices. Though the two Sesame Street videos do have Caroll Spinney, Frank Oz and Fran Brill reprising their respective roles and providing some additional voices, and The Hugga Bunch video features several of the cast members from the live-action TV movie produced around that time reprising their roles.
• What Could Have Been: A 1985 Montgomery Ward holiday catalog image shows a box for a Looney Tunes Golden Book Video that presumably would've adapted books starring Bugs Bunny, Sylvester the Cat and Tweety Bird and Daffy Duck. However, the video presumably never got made (the catalog blurb states "Looney Tunes not available"), either because the licensing rights from Warner Bros. or getting Mel Blanc (who was already getting up there in years) to reprise his roles would have been too expensive (as the videos were obviously already low-budget productions), or because Warner did not want to tarnish the Looney Tunes' reputation with a "Picturemation" video (having learned their lesson with loaning out the characters from Filmation's Daffy Duck and Porky Pig Meet the Groovie Goolies years earlier).
