- Bad Export for You: Zig-zagged. While American arcades started out using the cardless machines because people liked to jam coins into the card slots, they were later replaced with the "Evolution" machines, with all of the content available from the start.
- Keep Circulating the Tapes: Operation G.H.O.S.T., the sequel. Sega has announced there are currently no plans to port it to consoles.
- Name's the Same: The GHOSTs in this game are not the same as the ones featured in the Ghost Recon franchise. Nor are they the ones in Call of Duty: Ghosts.
- The original two versions of the game run on the Xbox-based Sega Chihiro hardware, but GHOST Squad Evolution runs on the more modern Sega Lindbergh hardware.
