- Billing Displacement: There's at least one home media cover for the film that solely features Salma Hayek on it, rather than Hayek, Ryan Phillippe, Neve Campbell and Mike Myers like in the original theatrical poster, most likely due to Hayek being the one cast member to remain consistently popular in later years. - Dolph Lundgren originally was to play Greg Randazzo.
- Focus Group Ending: Nearly the entire movie was re-done by the studio because test audiences reacted negatively to Shane's bisexuality, saying it made him "unlikeable". They also reacted negatively to a kiss between Shane and Greg. The studio in response, cut out 40 minutes of the film and reshot new scenes to remove these themes. The test audiences also hated that Shane, Greg and Anita got a happy ending.
