Trivia / Dookie

  • Cut Song: "J.A.R.", "Haushinka" and "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)". The former was re-recorded for the Angus soundtrack and the latter two were re-recorded for nimrod. (prior to this, a Dookie-era recording of "Good Riddance" appeared as a b-side to the 1995 single "Brain Stew/Jaded" after the group decided not to include the song on Insomniac). "409 in Your Coffeemaker" from Slappy and "Christie Road" from Kerplunk were also re-recorded, but cut. The former was released (albeit unmixed) on certain versions of the "Basket Case" single, while the latter remains unreleased.
  • What Could Have Been: The band's original idea for the album title was Liquid Dookie, which was inspired by the band's tours, where they often ate spoiled food and consequently experienced diarrhea. The executives at Reprise eventually convinced the band to shorten the title to Dookie.
