Trivia / Cyber Six

The cartoon:

  • Adaptation First: An English TV series based on a comic that was never released in English.
  • International Coproduction: Between TMS and Vancouver-based NOA, with Teletoon as the commissioning broadcaster.
  • Life Imitates Art: Possibly? In the second episode, Von Reichter takes a photo of Cybersix as a child and manipulates it to appear as her current age. Although this was an idea in 1999, an electronic version was not in common use, and it was nowhere near as sophisticated as it is now (it's often used to locate missing persons these days).
  • Advertisement:
  • Screwed by the Network: Didn't get more episodes thanks to Teletoon favoring Mega Babies and Fox Kids pre-empting it and other various shows in favor of Digimon and Monster Rancher to compete against Pokémon on Kids' WB!.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • The series was planned to be much darker, possibly on par with the source material but due to "censors" it was toned down drastically, Although some of those elements can be seen in the TMS sample video which has clips from different versions of episodes.
    • Plans for a second season was greenlighted and even approved (characters such as Maura Click, Nacho, and possibly Gengis were planned to appear) but due to conflicts between production studios TMS and NOA those plans never happened.

The comic:

  • No Export for You: No official English translation of the comic was published, but a fan translation of the French version can be found here.
