  • Beam Me Up, Scotty!: The knife quote, often misremembered as "You call that a knife? This is a knife!". Probably because the use of "that" for both knives would make the proper quote a bit confusing out of context.
  • Cast the Expert: David Gulpilil (Nev) choreographed the traditional Aboriginal dance shown in the movie. He's one of the most famous and acclaimed tribal dancers of all time in Australia.
  • Creator Backlash: Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles' co-writer Matthew Berry in an interview with How Did This Get Made? despised the final film. He said he and his writing partner did the gig purely for the money [and weren't that happy with their script] and hated working with Paul Hogan who made minimal changes to their script and then attempted to take all the credit for himself leading to an ugly dispute between the writers, Hogan and the writers guild [who sided with the writer].
  • Fake Nationality: For Crocodile Dundee II, the Colombians Luis Rico and Miguel were played by, respectively, the Puerto Rican Hechter Ubarry and the Dominican Juan Fernández.
  • Inspiration for the Work: The idea for the movie came about when Paul Hogan visited New York City and felt like an outsider and that people had thought he was Scottish and it inspired him to write the movie. He wrote the third film after he took a trip to the Czech Republic in 1993.
  • The Red Stapler: There were Crocodile Dundee tours of Kakadu National Park after the movie came out.
  • Romance on the Set: Paul Hogan and Linda Kozlowski got married after meeting while filming the first film. They eventually divorced in 2014.
  • Sequel Gap: Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles came out in 2001, 13 years after the second film.
  • What Could Have Been: At one point the idea for Beverly Hills Cop III was being a Crossover with Crocodile Dundee.
  • You Look Familiar:
    • Alec Wilson plays a major part in the third movie as Jacko, after having appeared as a side character, Denning, in the second movie.
    • "You Sound Familiar": in the French version, Daniel Russo dubbed both Danny (the taxi driver) in the first film and Bob Tanner (Sue Charlton's ex-husband) in the sequel.
