The role of Bruno was originally written with Russell Gilbert in mind, but declined due to scheduling conflicts with TV show "Hey Hey It's Saturday". Glenn Robbins was also considered for the role. Peter Rowsthorn was eventually cast instead.
Bud Tingwell turned down the role of Albert, which went to British actor Warren Mitchell instead.
