  • Breakthrough Hit: Five Nights at Freddy's was the game that drew many people to Cory's channel and allowed him to grow his channel bigger.
  • Colbert Bump: Whenever he finds a channel he considers underrated in his Spooky Scary Sundays series, he asks his subscribers to help the channel grow.
  • Doing It for the Art: Cory has stated that bringing a smile to someone's face is all he could ever hope to do out of making his videos.
  • Fan Community Nickname: The Samurai/Brethren.
  • Promoted Fanboy:
    • Cory was a big fan of YouTubers Dashie Games and Jacksepticeye and has now met and become friends with both of them. Dashie even called him up once to remind him to keep up with his uploads.
    • Cory is a massive fan of Five Nights at Freddy's, so it was a big moment for him when he met the creator of the series Scott Cawthon. He would later make a cameo in the movie.
  • Schedule Slip: Because of the stress put on him by editing videos, his breaks from making videos has ranged from three days to nine months.
  • Series Hiatus: As mentioned above, a lot of the series he does suffer from this due to long breaks.
  • Screwed by the Network: Cory has had a few feuds with YouTube due to some questionable decisions from the policy team:
    • On August 27, 2021, one day after Cory returned to YouTube, his channel received a Community Guidelines strike on a Try Not to Laugh video he uploaded in 2019, flagged as: "Child abuse". In response, on September 2, 2021, Cory uploaded a video titled "YouTube Gave Me A Strike & Won't Tell Me Why" in which he explains the situation as well as expressing his frustration and disdain for YouTube's lack of communication when situations like these occur. The video reached #1 on Trending within hours of being uploaded.
    • On August 24, 2022, Cory uploaded a video titled "YouTube: Racism and Favoritism", where he explains that his playthrough of The Mortuary Assistant was age restricted for an alleged violation of their Suicide & Self-Harm policy. However, Cory noticed that none of the other playthroughs from other YouTubers were age restricted and sent an appeal to YouTube stating this as evidence. Six days later, YouTube rejected the appeal without giving a clear reason why. Cory then sent a clip of Markiplier's playthrough of the suspected reason for the restriction to YouTube, to which they finally removed Cory's age restriction. However, a couple days later, not only was Cory's video re-age restricted, but also Mark's video. With all of this in mind, Cory believes his channel is constantly and unfairly scrutinized more than other YouTubers and suspects the reason for this could be racism (not necessarily YouTube as a whole, but the policy team in question), but also said he'd happily rescind his arguments and publicly apologize to YouTube if he ends up being wrong. He also expressed his disapproval towards YouTube Black, believing it to be fake, condescending, and patronizing, saying that Black YouTubers don't need a separate platform and should just be treated like any other YouTuber, that is putting good content on the YouTube homepage regardless of race.
  • Throw It In!: A lot of the time, Cory leaves incidents he had while setting up or recording.
  • Trolling Creator: He once made a video on April Fools' Day where he "reveals" that he ended up impregnating a girlfriend he has.
  • Written-In Infirmity: One episode of Geometry Dash has Cory play the game with a fracture in his arm that he got in a convention as a challenge.
