• Enforced Method Acting: Reportedly, Tom Waits was irritable and grumpy during the filming of his and Iggy Pop's segment "Somewhere In California", due to being exhausted from promoting his then-new album Bone Machine. Though his mood improved, Jim insisted that Waits keep some of that "paranoid surliness", which we see in his performance during the scene itself.
