Trivia / Cleopatra in Space

  • Approval of God: Mike Maihack , who worked on the original graphic novels, approved of the show and the changes Doug Langdale made.
  • Distanced from Current Events: The sixth episode, "The Flu", was not put up on the Peacock streaming service in America. Considering the subject matter and when it was released note  , it's easy to understand. The episode did however eventually make its way on Peacock in 2021, under the new title "Quarantine".
  • Invisible Advertising: Especially when the show first premiered, it received nearly no advertisement from either Peacock or Dreamworks, the former being the most outrageous as it only got one mention on its Twitter account, on a date where it didn't even premiere in the US. Even now the advertisement for this show is rare, though Dreamworks has been making more of an effort as of late.
  • Playing Against Type: Greg Cipes (known for good guys like Beast Boy and Michelangelo) voices Cyrano, who serves the villain Octavian.
  • Screwed by the Network:
    • Ever since the relationship between DreamWorks and Netflix has been complicated, the series' initial plan of airing on TV on Universal Kids was scrapped in turn of being released onto a "free" app, Peacock, which at first sounded great; until everyone realized you needed Xfinity to have access to it, and even those that had Xfinity would likely have to wait until at least the 30th for everyone with the provider to get it. Nationwide it was announced that everyone could view the series on July 15th, which would've been nice if we didn't then learn that you would likely only be able to watch the first few episodes before paying. Add this with the entire series already premiering internationally with no problem, as elaborated on below, and you get a bunch of frustration from fans.
    • Then more frustration when it was revealed that after what felt like a long time of waiting, only FIVE EPISODES (of 26!) were made officially available. No other DreamWorks show, to date, has had a more difficult release history.
    • In a meta sense, the series was actually Saved By a Network, as if it didn't air in Southeast Asia, or even Poland, it likely wouldn't have gotten the sizeable fanbase and following that it has, due to what's going on with Peacock (and Showmax as well) and their distribution of the series.
  • Short Run in Peru:
    • Infamously, the series had its worldwide premiere in Southeast Asia on the DreamWorks Channel on November 25, 2019. They had a hiatus at episode 12, and then again at episode 19.
    • The series also premiered on Teletoon+ in Poland in February 2020, and quickly finished its run of 26 episodes.
    • Then, in the same month, all 26 episodes were also released in English on Showmax. Same thing with Globoplay in Brazil a few months later, and Viaplay in Scandinavia.
  • Voices in One Room: Most voice recordings were done separately, but there have been group sessions.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Doug Langdale revealed some important bits of information about the show:
      • Dreamworks originally conceived this as a feature film, but he felt the idea lends itself better to a full series.
      • King Ptolemy was originally conceived to be a gruffer character, but when Sendhil Ramamurthy (Khensu) was cast, the character became smoother and more reasonable.
