• Acting for Two:
  • Seth Rogen not only voices Bob, but also reprises his roles as Pumbaa, Mantis, and B.O.B..
  • Jim Cummings played several characters, including Fat Cat, Pete, The Shredder, Darkwing Duck, and bootleg versions of Winnie the Pooh and Tigger.
  • Rachel Bloom voices Flounder, Cubby, a bootleg version of Bart Simpson and several incidentals.
  • Much of the voice cast do double (or more) duty. With the only notable exceptions being the lead actors, Greg Chun, and Jeff Bennett.
  • In the Japanese dub, Kōichi Yamadera voices both Roger Rabbit and DJ Herzogenaurach.
• Actor Allusion: Detective Florez, another character voiced by John Mulaney, appears in the LAPD police station.
• Approval of God: Tad Stones, who co-created and co-wrote the original cartoon, has expressed his approval of the film on his Twitter account and said it was fantastic after seeing it. He even shows up in a cameo as a studio executive.
• Celebrity Voice Actor: In the Japanese dub, Bjornson the Cheesemonger is voiced by theater actor Takeshi Hirabayashi.
• Cross-Dressing Voices:
  • Tress MacNeille briefly provides Chip's chipmunk voice in a couple scenes, while child actress Juliet Donenfield voices Dale as a kid.
  • Flounder is voiced by Rachel Bloom.
• Descended Creator: Director Akiva Schaffer voices several characters in the film.
• Marth Debuted in "Smash Bros.": For some foreign viewers, like those from Japan and Asian regions, this would be the first time the animated version of Tigra is dubbed in a local language, as the original show she appeared was never brought to those regions.
• Newbie Boom: Many new fans were introduced to Chip and Dale via this movie, not only because it's the first media in which they've starred in a long while, but also because it features high-profile cameos from numerous other cartoon characters and parodies a large variety of media, which prompted many people to watch it just for that and be introduced to Chip and Dale as a side effect.
• The Original Darrin:
  • After being recast with Mark Hamill for Masters of the Universe: Revelation and Ben Diskin for He-Man and the Masters of the Universe (2021), Alan Oppenheimer returns to his iconic role as Skeletor.
    • The same goes in the Latin American Spanish dub, as Ruben Moya reprise the same role, after being replaced with the Colombian-born Giovanni Cruz in Masters of the Universe: Revelation and Ivan Bastidas in He-Man and the Masters of the Universe (2021), through in the latter, he voiced Adam's father, King Randor.
  • The 1987 Shredder was voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2012). Here, as part of Sweet Pete's One-Winged Angel form, Jim Cummings, who voiced Shredder on the show for its 1991-1993 run, returns to the part. Cummings also reclaims his role of Darkwing Duck from Chris Diamantopoulos, who voiced him on DuckTales (2017)^note Though Cummings did "technically" voice Darkwing on that show first, it was as Jim Starling, who would become that series' version of Negaduck, while Diamantopoulos voiced the real Darkwing, Drake Mallard.
  • Charles Fleschier reprises Roger Rabbit after having been replaced by Jess Harnell starting with Roger Rabbits Cartoon Spin
  • In the German dub, Marc Stachel voices Ugly Sonic, reprising his role from the games and replacing Julien Bam.
• The Other Darrin:
  • For the first time in years, Tress MacNeille and Corey Burton are replaced by John Mulaney and Andy Samberg as Chip and Dale. However, the second trailer reveals that they reprise the roles briefly when Chip and Dale do their chipmunk voices.
  • Besides the title duo, Monterey Jack has been recast from Jim Cummings^note originally Peter Cullen to Eric Bana.
  • Ugly Sonic is voiced by Tim Robinson instead of Ben Schwartz (who voiced him as well as the redesigned character in the finished movie). What makes this funny is that this means Sonic has, in some form or another, had four voice actors in a single year.^note Roger Craig Smith for Sonic Frontiers, the aforementioned Ben Schwartz, Deven Mack for Sonic Prime, and now Tim Robinson here.
  • For his brief cameo, Jorma Taccone replaces Ben Affleck as the DCEU verison of Batman.
  • Akiva Schaffer, the film's director, voices E.T. rather than the late Pat Welsh, who voiced him in the original film, or Audrey Wasilewski, who played him in LEGO Dimensions.
  • In addition to reprising the role of Skeletor, Alan Oppenheimer also takes on the role of He-Man from John Irwin.
  • Tigra is voiced by Liz Cackowski instead of Lenore Zann, who voiced her in The Avengers: United They Stand.
  • Steven Curtis Chapman voices Baloo, who uses his live-action design from The Jungle Book (2016), instead of Bill Murray, although it's Justified in that the movie treats that Baloo as the original verison having undergone CGI surgery.
  • Zipper is voiced by Dennis Haysbert rather than Corey Burton, outside of a few of the character's original buzzing noises.
  • Rachel Bloom takes over the role of Flounder, who's been voiced by numerous actors over the years since The Little Mermaid, as well as Cubby, one of the Lost Boys from Peter Pan. She also replaces Nancy Cartwright as Bart Simpson, albeit due to Bart and the rest of the family being bootlegged by Sweet Pete.
  • Japanese dub:
    • Kaito Ishikawa and Kenji Nojima replace Chip and Dale's regular dub voice actors, Roko Takizawa and Minoru Inaba^note And both Kōichi Yamadera and Kenyuu Horiuchi in the TV Tokyo dub respectively. However, like the English version, both Takizawa and Inaba reprise their roles as regular chipmunks.
    • Monterey Jack is voiced by Naomi Kusumi, as his from both dubbed versions, Yuzuru Fujimoto (TV Tokyo) and Eken Mine (new official dub), had both passed away.
    • Ugly Sonic is voiced by Shinji Kawada, rather than either Junichi Kanemaru (games, Wreck-It Ralph and Ralph Breaks the Internet) or Taishi Nakagawa (films). Justified here, since he is a parody character.
    • Fat Cat is now voiced by Naoki Tamanoi, as his voice actors from the TV series, Masayuki Kato (new official dub) and Yuu Shimaka (TV Tokyo dub), had both died as well.
    • Likewise, someone would had to replace the late Kazue Takahashi as E.T..
    • B.O.B. is voiced by Yohei Tadano, rather than Yuuki Himura, as the latter is a Celebrity Voice Actor.
    • Flounder is voiced by Tomomi Mizuma, over the plethora of female and child male voice actors who had voiced him.
    • Baloo is voiced by Ryūsei Nakao over the late Daisuke Gōri.^note  Also overlaps with Playing Against Type, as Baloo, in both English and most foreign dubs, Japanese included, is traditionally voiced by voice actors with pretty deep voices, while Nakao is pretty notorious for having a quite high-pitched voice that he traditionally use for characters like Frieza or Mayuri Kurotsuchi.
  • Latin American Spanish dub:
    • Carlo Vázquez voices Chip, both his real and high-pitched voice, over Rosario Muñoz Ledo
    • Noe Velazquez voices Dale, both his real and high-pitched voice, over Arturo Mercado and Cristina Camargo, the latter being retired from voice acting since 2020.
    • Jorge Roig Jr voices Monterey Jack, replacing his father, Jorge Sr.
    • Maggie Vera voices Gadget, replacing Ariadna Rivas, who also retired from voice acting at 2015.
    • Gerardo Reyero voices Zipper, replacing Arturo Mercado.
    • Jesse Conde replaces the late Eduardo Borja as Fat Cat.
    • Carlos Luyando replaces the late Alvaro Tarcicio as Skeletor.
    • Since The Avengers: United They Stand was dubbed in Chile, aside of the fact that her voice actress in that version, Keyros Guillen, died at 2014, Tigra is dubbed by the Mexico-born Carola Vázquez.
    • Erick Salinas voice Ugly Sonic over Yamil Atala (Wreck-It Ralph), Memo Aponte (Ralph Breaks the Internet) and Luis Arturo Villar (films). Hilariously enough, he is the official Latin American dub voice of Donald Duck, of all things.
  • Italian dub:
    • The original Rescue Rangers characters are all voiced by Celebrity Voice Actors, so they were all recast from the original series: Raoul Bova replaces Antonella Rinaldi as Chip, Giampaolo Morelli replaces Teo Bellia as Dale, Francesca Chillemi replaces Loredana Nicosia as Gadget and Jonis Bascir replaces Massimo Rinaldi as Monterey Jack. While he's not a Celebrity Voice Actor, Dario Oppido replaces Mario Bardella (who died in 2014) as Fat Cat.
    • Luca Mannocci voices Ugly Sonic instead of Renato Novara, who is based in Milan.
    • Marco Manca voices Baloo, replacing both Michele Kalamera (who voiced him in TaleSpin) and Neri Marcorè (who voiced him in The Jungle Book (2016)).
    • Tigra is voiced by Valentina Stredini rather than Lorella De Luca. Justified since The Avengers: United They Stand was dubbed in Milan and not Rome.
    • He-Man and Skeletor are voiced respectively by Marco Manca and Stefano Brusa rather that by any of their preexisting voice actors (Teo Bellia and Mario Cordova for He-Man, the late Franco Latini, Rodolfo Traversa and the late Oreste Rizzini for Skeletor).
  • The Brazilian Portuguese dub has plenty of those, starting with Chip n' Dale and also including Baloo, B.O.B., Mantis, and Darkwing Duck.
• Parody Assistance:
  • The same effects company from Sonic the Hedgehog (2020) worked in the movie, meaning they had to remake the Ugly Sonic - as the director noted, they had to "repeat their mistakes on purpose this time". Several other movies MPC also worked on are referenced throughout the film, with the company recreating many of the effects they did for those films (notably the Bat Armor from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice for the Batman vs. E.T. parody clip, the cats from Cats for the Uncanny Valley neighborhood scene, Baloo from The Jungle Book (2016) and the leg of Optimus Prime from the upcoming Transformers: Rise of the Beasts). Speaking of Batman v Superman, its director of photography Larry Fong worked on Chip 'n Dale as well.
  • Top Draw would be brought back to animate the Gen 4 My Little Pony cast for their cameo.
  • Jim Henson's Creature Shop lent over the Swedish Chef puppet to the shoot as a lighting reference for Bjornson.
• Pop Culture Urban Legends: Thanks to a very convincing 4chan comment from before the film's second trailer was released, many believe there to be an older cut of the movie where Pluto the Pup was the villain instead of Peter Pan. Outside of this 4chan comment, there is no evidence of this so-called "Pluto cut" anywhere. None of the film's crew members have mentioned it, and in fact, there was an interview with the director confirming Charlie Brown was the villain originally.
• Reality Subtext: The film's central theme of bootlegging (lumped up with the concept of The Mockbuster) parallels that of Disney's struggles with (foreign) studios and distributors who release animated films which bear too much of a resemblance to popular Disney franchises. Disney has previously sued a number of them to oblivion, such as Filmation whose Happily Ever After feature angered Disney, and Phase 4 Films who tried to pass off the otherwise unrelated The Legend of Sarila as a Frozen (2013) send-up.
• Real-Life Relative: In the Latin Spanish dub, Monterey Jack is voiced by Jorge Roig Jr., whose father voiced the character in the original series. Likewise, Arturo Mercado Jr., who voices Paul Rudd, works alongside his father Arturo Mercado, who dubs both Darkwing Duck and Scrooge McDuck.
• Role Reprise: English version:
  • Tress MacNeille reprises her role as Gadget Hackwrench. She also briefly provides Chip's higher-pitched voice, as she did on the original show.
  • Corey Burton provides a few lines for both the higher-pitched voice of Dale and the unintelligible buzzing of Zipper.
  • Charles Fleischer reprises his role as Roger Rabbit.
  • Seth Rogen reprises his roles as Pumbaa, Mantis and B.O.B..
  • Although he was not his main actor, Jim Cummings was one of several replacement actors who voiced the Shredder in the 1987 TMNT series, voicing him here as part of Sweet Pete's One-Winged Angel form. In a more recognizable sense, he also returned for Fat Cat, Pete, Darkwing Duck, and Winnie the Pooh (albeit voicing mockbusters of both Pooh and Tigger).
  • Jeff Bennett reprises his role as Lumière.
  • Scrooge's cameo has him voiced by David Tennant, who played him in the 2017 reboot.
  • Alan Oppenheimer reprises his role as Skeletor.
  • Steven Curtis Chapman reprises his role as Baloo years after voicing him in The Jungle Book Rhythm n’ Groove.
  • Betty Lou Gerson's laugh as Cruella DeVille is briefly reused for the Frankenstein Sweet Pete, allowing her to reprise her role 23 years after her death.
  • Japanese dub:
    • Kōichi Yamadera is back as Roger Rabbit.
    • Takuya Kirimoto reprises his role as Master Mantis.
    • Naoko Matsui also returns as Gadget from the official TV dub, being the only Japanese voice actor from the show on doing so.
    • Ryūsei Nakao and Mitsuru Ogata reprise their roles as Darkwing Duck and Scrooge McDuck respectively.
    • Masashi Ebara reprises his role as Lumière.
  • Brazilian Portuguese dub:
    • Sheila Dorfman (Gadget) and Mauro Ramos (Monterey Jack) reprise their roles from the original series. However, Dale is voiced by Marcelo Garcia instead of Manolo Rey, who instead reprises his role as Sonic from most of his appearances since Sonic the Hedgehog (SatAM).
    • Ramos also voices Pete again, Lumiere and Pumbaa have their voices from the remakes, and the Uncle Scrooge cameo retains the 2017 dubber. Additionally, the mockbuster versions of Bart and Homer have the actual Simpsons voices.
    • Ilka Pinheiro reprises her role as E.T. from the 1982 film.
  • French dub:
    • Virginie Ledieu reprises her role as Gadget. Also, Darkwing Duck is voiced by Jérôme Pauwels, who previously voiced the Jim Starling version of the character in the 2017 DuckTales series, as well as the original Darkwing in the Disney+ dub of the DWD episode "Double Darkwings". And Young Dale is voiced by Kaycie Chase, reprising her role from Chip 'n' Dale: Park Life.
  • Latin American Spanish dub:
    • Ruben Moya reprises his role as He-Man, while Arturo Mercado also did the same with both Darkwing Duck and Scrooge McDuck.
    • Francisco Colmenero also reprises his role as Big Bad Pete.
    • The bootlegged versions of Homer and Bart Simpson are voiced by Humberto Vélez (his original voice actor who left after season 15 but returned to voice him starting with season 32) and Claudia Motta (Bart's second voice who like Velez returned in Season 32 to voice the character).
  • Italian dub:
    • Marco Mete reprises his role as Roger Rabbit.
    • Fabrizio Vidale reprises his role as Scrooge McDuck from DuckTales (2017).
    • Stefano Fresi reprises his role as the 2019 Pumbaa.
    • Simone Mori reprises his role as Mantis.
    • Oliviero Dinelli reprises his role as Darkwing Duck.
    • Leslie La Penna reprises his role as Lumiere from House of Mouse.
• What Could Have Been:
  • At one point the filmmakers considered having the film's Big Bad be a grown-up version of Charlie Brown instead of Peter Pan.
  • Ugly Sonic's role was originally meant for Jar Jar Binks from ''Star Wars''.
  • Other discarded cameo ideas for the film included Chris Evans, Elliot from Pete's Dragon, Mushu from Mulan, Yoda from Star Wars, a Skeksis from The Dark Crystal, and James P. Sullivan and Mike Wazowski from Monsters, Inc..
