• Channel Hop: Started on TBS, then moved to Cartoon Network.
• Edited for Syndication: By 1997, the skits and songs were repacked into 22 episodes without the older cartoons. These versions were briefly reran on [adult swim] in 2006.
• Keep Circulating the Tapes: Some segments of the original run were included on The Brak Show DVDs, but the copyrighted footage/music was replaced. If a complete series set was ever made of Cartoon Planet, it's pretty much a guarantee that it will have to be edited for copyright reasons. While the revival does not use licensed content, it has absolutely nothing released for it, which forces people to resort to YouTube.
  • Meanwhile, many segments that originally aired in the hour-long version but not in the half-hour version of the show are completely lost.
• Screwed by the Network: The original show was cancelled in 1997 (despite high ratings), then its songs and sketches were repackaged into 22 episodes. Many sketches from the original hour-long version were left out in the process.
