The 2006 Movie

  • Creator Backlash: Tracy Letts and William Friedkin were reportedly NOT happy with the way Lionsgate marketed the movie.
  • No Export for You: The film was only released on BluRay in the Netherlands and Germany.
  • The Film was actually the last film shot in Southern Louisiana prior to Hurricane Katrina, which happened only a few days after filming wrapped.

The Game Series

  • Vaporware: The first game was apparently popular enough to have an animated series considered. It never came out.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • In the very earliest stage of production, what would become BUG! was supposed to be a Sonic the Hedgehog sequel. Realtime Associates and Sega of America were in the final stages of approval until Sega of Japan learned of it and nixed the project. The game was retooled as an original IP so that the Japanese side couldn't interfere.
    • According to Playing at the Next Level: A History of American Sega Games, the game was originally developed for the Genesis.
