• Blooper: When Cordelia and Anya are talking in the courtyard, an extra can be seen standing in the background - clearly unsure of what she's supposed to be doing and then suddenly moving.
  • Also in the scene where Harmony and the Cordettes have to explain to an oblivious Cordy about the rules of the Wishverse, one can spot the very bottom of a boom microphone in a wide shot of the group.
• Creator's Favorite Episode: Joss Whedon named this as one his favourite episodes. Make-up supervisor Todd McIntosh named it as his favourite episode.
• Deleted Scene: Two lines were cut from Giles' conversation with Anyanka:
  Giles: Cordelia Chase, what did she wish for?
  Anyanka: I had no idea her wish would be so exciting. Brave new world. I hope she likes it.
  Giles: She's dead.
  Anyanka: It happens.
• First Appearance: Of Anya.
• The Other Marty: A different actress was initially cast as Anya but she dropped out when she found out it was only for (at the time) two guest spots. Emma Caulfield replaced her and ended up a series regular for the remainder of the show when Joss and the writers decided the character was more interesting than they'd thought.
• Pop-Culture Urban Legends: People thought that Faith had a cameo in the episode getting bitten by a vampire at the Bronze. It's not her, just a similar looking extra.
• Similarly Named Works: There is also an episode of The Amazing World of Gumball named "The Wish".
• What Could Have Been: Initially Wishverse Buffy was going to be decked out in more military style clothing, with a larger cross. The writers must have thought it would look silly so they went with a grittier, harder version of Buffy's normal dress sense.
