  • Follow the Leader: Zigzagged. The cartoon, toyline, Konami-developed video games and the marketing thereof positioned the franchise as being one of the Teenage Mutant Samurai Wombats-style shows created in the wake of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. However, the original comic was published at the same time as the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comics and took no inspiration from it.
  • Invisible Advertising: Probably the biggest reason this franchise is so obscure. Seriously, did anyone see any advertising for any aspect of it?
  • Market-Based Title: The series is known as Bucky O'Hare and the Toad Menace in Canada, due to the word "war" being considered taboo for family-friendly TV series at the time.note
  • Role Reprise: Most of the cast of the cartoon returned for the Arcade Game, with the exception of Samuel Vincent, whose character was instead played by Scott McNeil.
  • Screwed by the Network:
    • Larry Hama put it best in this interview:
Larry Hama: [I was] Pretty disappointed that we couldn't get to a second season. All the result of a shipping and distribution error in getting the toy assortments to the stores that first Christmas. The assortments went out with the same number of Bucky figures as let's say the Toad Air Marshal. That's nuts. The Bucky figures disappeared immediately, and all that was left on the racks were Air Marshals, and Toad Troopers. There should have been twice as many Buckys and Willies.
    • As a result of the above error, the second toy line never got shipped despite being complete.
  • What Could Have Been: Larry Hama, the creator, was an editor at DC Comics, and the comic was supposed to be the first creator-owned property of the company, but due to them continually trying to get him to turn in material before he signed a contract, he took the idea to Continuity Comics.
