- Actor-Shared Background: Prior to his wrestling career, he had been a bodyguard for Snoop Dogg, and appeared in a Hot Pockets commercial with him. His first on-screen role in WWE was as Alberto Del Rio's bodyguard. In TNA all he's been is a bodyguard.
- Recycled Soundtrack: Brodus' face theme, "Somebody Call My Momma", was briefly used in WWE eight years earlier by Ernest "The Cat" Miller. Unfortunately for Brodus, Tazz is no longer around to sing along to the song.

- Originally, he was to debut as a monster heel, injuring jobbers and putting them in his personal 'Hall of Pain.' WWE liked the idea...but the gimmick went to Mark Henry instead.
- International Championship Wrestling was to hold a Thunda In Guyana show featuring a handful of Caribbean independent wrestlers during May of 2017, but the event was pushed back to July 1st in order to get several "bigger superstars in the wrestling fraternity", which included Tommy Dreamer, Al Snow, Ryback, Bobby Lashley, Carlito Colón and Tyrus, on the card.
- His dance number for WrestleMania XXVIII was to be cut for time. John Cena instead forced the production crew’s hand to let Brodus have six minutes of air time by “going to the bathroom” right before his match.
