  • Tanya Huff said in interviews that she loved the idea of Coreen becoming Vicki's secretary, and wished she'd thought of it herself for the books to avoid The Smurfette Principle.
  • More importantly, when Tanya was still writing the original books, she watched FX: the series, and told her partner that Christina Cox would be the perfect actress for Vicki in about ten years. About ten years later, the show was created and Cristina Cox was cast as Vicki!
