    • Kenichirou Matsuda voices Gordon Agrippa and his family, as well as the narrator.
    • Hitomi Sasaki provides the voices for Nero, Arlu, Marie Aldai, and Eliza Zaccheroni, overlapping with You Sound Familiar.
    • In addition to voicing the transformed Grey, Masayuki Akasaka also provides the voices for Rades and Shirem Tium.

• Breakthrough Hit: For Yūki Tabata after his previous serialization Hungry Joker failed to garner enough popularity.
• Celebrity Voice Actor: Jester Garandros is voiced by Fumiya Takahashi, a live-action actor in several dramas, but most well-known as The Hero Aruto Hiden in Kamen Rider Zero-One.
• Channel Hop: The manga started in Weekly Shonen Jump but changed to the quarterly Jump GIGA in 2023. Tabata struggled with completing a chapter every week and often fell ill without accomplishing it anyway, and wanted a schedule where he could have time with his family especially after his wife had a health scare, when most Weekly Mangaka have to live away from their families when they aren't on break because of how much they need to work every day.
• Creator's Favorite: Tabata has stated that Charmy, who he based off of his wife, is his favorite character and the one he enjoys drawing the most.
• Directed by Cast Member:
  • In the English dub, Cris George is both the narrator and the dub's ADR director.
  • In the Latin American Spanish dub, Angélica Villa was the ADR director as well as Sylph's voice actress.
  • Besides directing the German dub, Jasmin Arnoldt is also the voice of Vanessa Enoteca.
• Hey, It's That Sound!: All of the sound effects featured in the TV anime are from Fizz Sound Creation's sound archives. They've also been used for works produced by Toei Animation and Sunrise.
• Meme Acknowledgment:
  • Asta constantly shouting became an infamous meme as a result of him being voiced by his Japanese actor, Gakuto Kajiwara. Crunchyroll would eventually poke fun at this on their Twitter account.
  • "Make Nero plush" is a meme among fans complaining about the lack of Black Clover merchandise, with many fans wanting a plush of Nero. The official Black Clover English Twitter account cheekily referenced it.
• The Original Darrin: In the English version:
  • After being replaced by Jerry Jewell for the initial broadcast of episode 53, Josh Grelle returned to re-record William Vangeance for the home media release.
  • After being replaced by Trina Nishimura for the February 2019 simulcast of episode 67, Brina Palencia re-recorded Kahono's speaking lines for the home media release.
• The Other Darrin: In the Japanese version:
  • None of the Japanese actors of the 2016 Jump Festa OVA reprised their roles for the TV anime adaptation. Interestingly enough, Kaito Ishikawa, who voiced Mars in the OVA, would later go on to voice Langris Vaude in the TV version, while Mars is voiced here by Yuichiro Umehara.
  • Hirofumi Arai voiced Rhya for episodes 35 through 39. However, after his arrest for sexual assault in February 2019, Masakazu Morita took his place.
  • Nero has its noises provided by Hitomi Sasaki, who also voices Marie Adlai, but when Nero switched to her true form, Secre Swallowtail, she was replaced by Ayane Sakura.
• Overtook the Manga: Defying this is the reason why the anime went on a hiatus on Episode 170 after adapting Asta and Liebe's fight and mutual contract afterwards, as the anime was so close to the manga at the time this would have been inevitable if it continued.
• Playing Against Type:
  • Ayane Sakura is known for being mostly cast as cute, energetic girls. However, in Black Clover, she voices the quiet, apathetic Secre Swallowtail.
  • Yui Ogura has been typecast for playing cute Token Mini Moes. In Black Clover, she voices the battle-hungry, psychotic blood mage Vanica Zogratis.
• Promoted Fanboy: Members of the band Snow Man were fans of Black Clover before they were chosen to sing the anime's eleventh opening. Their favorite characters include Secre, Fuegoleon, Grey, Vanessa, and Sekke.
• Real-Life Relative: Besides voicing Hamon Caseus in the Latin Spanish dub, all of José Luis Orozco's children have roles in that dub. Andrea Orozco voices Mariella, Luis Fernando Orozco voices William Vangeance, and Alejandro Orozco voices Nix.
• Referenced by...:
  • In Chapter 188/Episode 88 of My Hero Academia, a flashback of the Todoroki siblings shows Natsuo wearing a shirt that says "BLACK" with the symbol of a clover.
  • In Magium, Arraka says, "I want you to surpass your damn limits".
• Release Date Change:
  • The SimulDub of Season 3 had the misfortune of being produced during the rise of the COVID-19 Pandemic. Unfortunately, the pandemic got so severe that Funimation was forced to delay production until further notice.
  • In April 2020, it was announced that the broadcast of future episodes would be delayed indefinitely due to the pandemic until it was announced that the anime would resume on July 7.
• Role-Ending Misdemeanor: During his first appearances, Rhya was voiced by actor Hirofumi Arai, whom the design of the character was based on. However, after he was arrested for sexual assault, he was replaced by Masakazu Morita, who became the official voice of the character upon his reappearance in the 87th episode of the anime.
• Romance on the Set: Jill Harris, Noelle's English voice actress, broke news of her engagement to Dallas Reid, Asta's English voice actor, in April 2019.
• Star-Making Role: For Gakuto Kajiwara as Asta, which was his first lead role. He would later go on to voice Shinra from Fire Force and win the Best New Actor Award at the 14th Seiyū Awards. He even made his musical debut with the single "A Walk", which was used as the twelfth ending theme of the Black Clover anime.
• Troubled Production: A case of it being an ongoing issue for the TV anime. The series was often plagued by shoddy animation and documented issues of finding even storyboard artists due to the lack of a production manager on Studio Pierrot's part. • Two Voices, One Character: In the Japanese version, Nero/Secre Swallowtail is voiced by two different actresses depending on whether it's her bird form (Hitomi Sasaki) or human form (Ayane Sakura), respectively.
• What Could Have Been: According to the series' editor Fukuda, it was originally planned for Yuno to die in Chapter 7.
• Word of God:
  • In the Jump Festa 2017 interview, it was stated that there are Black Bulls who were yet to appear, including the Vice Captain. This would later come true with the appearances of Zora, Henry, and Nacht later in the story.
  • At the Jump Festa 2019 Q&A, it was stated that Vanessa has no romantic feelings for Yami, with them having a familial relationship and she acts clingy towards him like a sister.
  • In the Assorted Question Brigade of Chapter 229, it was stated that way before possessing Ronne, Zagred was already possessing and impersonating Baval (an elf in David Swallow's body) as soon as during the Golden Dawn elf's attack against Clover Castle. The Q&A also stated that the Light Magic arrows used to massacre the elves in Licht's wedding was actually Zagred's word soul magic that looked like Lumiere's. Zagred's magic is nowhere near strong enough to copy Lumiere's magic in his soul form, so the devil used magic tools and arrays to make the ruse more convincing.
