  • The film was conceived with Barbra Streisand (Sadie) and Goldie Hawn (Rose) in mind.
  • Initially, the filmmakers planned on applying prosthetics to the photo doubles for scenes featuring both sets of twins, but this proved unconvincing. They then turned to classic over-the-shoulder shots and complex optical effects from Industrial Light & Magic to achieve the desired results.
