• Corpsing: During his time as Big Bubba Rogers, Jim Cornette would intentionally try to make Traylor laugh during their promos. Since he was playing The Stoic, Ray would bite his own lip until it bled holding the laughs in.
• Real Life Writes the Plot: According to Jim Cornette, the Big Bubba Rogers character was created, at least in part, because Cornette legitimately needed a bodyguard from rabid fans who wanted to kick his ass, and Traylor's real-life past experience as a prison guard made him a fit for the role.
• Real Song Theme Tune: In SMW, he used Inner Circle's "Bad Boys", the theme from COPS. He would use a Suspiciously Similar Song briefly as the Boss in WCW (when he wasn't using a SSS of his "Hard Times" WWF theme).
