• Recycled Script: The episode was inspired by the Blake's 7 episode "Power", which had a similar Battle of the Sexes, and features women being controlled by having a Power Crystal surgically removed.
• What Could Have Been: Jhiera was considered to become a recurring character. "The Ring" bringing up her demonic species (the Vigories of Oden Tal) was likely a reference to establish her as a part of the greater tapestry. But ultimately, this didn't happen.
