• Cross-Dressing Voices: The voice of Sparky and Norbert is Corinne Orr, who also voices Walt the Pig, another character from a Spark Plug movie.
• Dawson Casting: Corinne Orr was in her 70s when she voiced Sparky, who's a child.
• Direct to Video: And direct to the dollar store.
• Missing Episode: The fourth movie, Junkyard Blues (yes, fourth.) was nowhere to be found online other than a trailer, until someone on YouTube uploaded the full movie in parts.
• The Other Darrin: Sean Schemmel and Jim Woods take over Glen Gomez's roles as Fender and Clutch in the sequel due to a diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease forcing Gomez into retirement. Norbert and Gracie also have different voice actors in the sequel, though they are uncredited.
• Real-Life Relative: Sparky's little sister Gracie is voiced by Michael Schelp's real-life daughter (niece?) Grace, and the Gas Leech's son is voiced by his real-life son (nephew?) Mark.
• Sequel Gap: Car's Life 2 was released six years after the first movie.
