1985-1988

Some backstory from Hotline Miami: Wildlife, and the prequel part of Hotline Miami 2, detailing the Ghost Wolves activities in Hawaii during the war with Russia.

  • June 22nd 1969: A U.S. soldier named Kurt loses his arm in the Hawaii conflict.
  • March 17th 1985: "Ambush" - Evan Wright takes a picture of Beard and Jacket and gives Beard a copy.
  • October 5th 1985: "Stronghold" - The supposed last mission for the Ghost Wolves. The Colonel will be promoted to Lt. General.
  • October 31st 1985: "Casualties" - The Ghost Wolves go on a mission to take back a power plant. The Russian commander kill himself and then sets the plant to self-destruct. Barnes is fatally wounded in an explosion and Daniels stays behind with him. Jacket is also injured in the explosion, and Beard carries Jacket to an extraction point. Beard gives Jacket Evan's photo of them as a keepsake.
  • April 3rd 1986: Russia nukes San Francisco, killing Beard while he's working in a convenience store.
  • October 13th 1986: Following his expulsion from a Massachusetts college, Chris Jenkins moves to Miami.
  • November 13th 1988: Kurt hears about 50 Blessings from his old military friend Lester.
  • December 1st 1988: After an incident involving Russian mobsters at Freddie's Pub, Kurt joins 50 Blessings.

1989

The events of Hotline Miami, Hotline Miami: Wildlife, and the interquel chapters of Hotline Miami 2, detailing the anti-Russian activities of 50 Blessings' "agents"

  • February 4th 1989: Wilson Barnes signs up for 50 Blessings, after a recommendation from Chris. Chris had been donating money to the organization for some time before this.
  • February 10th 1989: Convenience store owner Mike Dalton kills two Russian mobsters trying to make him pay protection money.
  • February 17th 1989: Mike's convenience store is burned to the ground, presumably by Russians. Mike joins 50 Blessings for revenge.
  • February 24th 1989: Kurt attacks a Russian mafia mansion.
  • March 5th 1989: Chris receives a package containing a rabbit mask, guns, and ammo.
  • March 6th 1989: Mike begins his mission for 50 Blessings.
  • March 9th 1989: Chris attempts to return the package, but is instead sent to kill Russian mafia members. Chris decides to remain a member of 50 Blessings.
  • April 2nd 1989: "First Blood" - Richter is "recruited" by 50 Blessings after his car is torched and his mother's life is threatened.
  • April 3rd 1989: "The Metro" - Jacket is "recruited" by 50 Blessings. Mike is killed by a Russian mafia defector named Aleksei, who takes his identity.
  • April 6th 1989: Jacket sees Beard at the VHS Palace.
  • April 8th 1989: "No Talk"
  • April 10th 1989: "Demolition" - Richter finds his mom on the bathroom floor passed out.
  • April 16th 1989: "Overdose"
  • April 23rd 1989: "House Call" - Richter’s mom begins to have suspicions about her son.
  • April 25th 1989: "Decadence", "Hard News" - Jacket rescues Hooker. Jake goes on his first mission for 50 Blessings.
  • May 2nd 1989: Chris and "Mike" work together to assassinate a Russian mob boss.
  • May 5th 1989: "Tension" - Jacket sees Dennis (wolf mask) get lynched by Russian Mobsters outside of the convenience store.
  • May 11th 1989: "Full House"
  • May 13th 1989: "Clean Hit", "Safehouse" - Jacket encounters the Janitors. He then kill 3 politicians connected to the Russo-American Coalition. At the same time, Biker tries to get out of 50 Blessings and interrogates members of the group. Wilson kills Peter's father.
  • May 16th 1989: "Fun & Games" - Biker does a mission for 50 Blessings.
  • May 23rd 1989: "Neighbor", "Prank Call" - Biker and Jacket break into PhoneHom where they fight. Both Jacket and Biker survive the encounter.
  • May 24th 1989: "Resolution" - Biker meets the Janitors, who turn out to be the masterminds of the Hotline murders. He interrogates them about their 50 Blessings connections and leaves.
  • May 27th 1989: "Push It" - Jacket begins to hallucinate.
  • May 31st 1989: "Crackdown" - Jacket meets Richter.
  • June 3rd 1989: "Hot & Heavy", "Withdrawal" - Jake figures out that 50 Blessings is sending the phone calls, and is captured by the mob while out on his mission. A mobster named Petrov tries and fails to interrogate him, and Jacket later finds him dead.
  • June 6th 1989: Chris meets Peter, a Russian child with ties to the mafia. After a standoff, Peter asks Chris to help him escape the Russian Mafia.
  • June 8th 1989: "Deadline" - Jacket's girlfriend is killed by Richter. Richter shoots Jacket but doesn't kill him, sending him into a coma instead. Jacket proceeds to relive the past two months in a coma dream, hallucinating Beard working at various stores.
  • June 10th 1989: Chris's friend Blake is killed by Russian mobsters. Chris and Peter run from them, but are hunted down by Wilson and Kurt. Wilson helps Chris evade 50 Blessings once the two of them recognize each other.
  • July 21st 1989: "Trauma", "Assault" - Jacket wakes up from his coma and finds out that Richter has been arrested. After escaping from the hospital, Jacket proceeds to the police station, where he kills numerous police officers, obtains their files on the Russian Mob, and interrogates Richter. Richter returns to police custody.
  • July 23rd 1989: "Vengeance", "Showdown" - Jacket follows the police files to The Golden Truckstop, where he traces the phone calls to Russian Mob Boss Ivan Lebedev's mansion. He travels to the mansion and kills Lebedev, his son, and their bodyguard. He tosses Evan's photo of him and Beard off of a balcony, and is arrested soon afterwards.
  • October 26th 1989: Chris and Peter start a new life in the United Kingdom.
  • July 20th 1990: "Release" - Richter, now in prison, is visited by the Janitors, who arrange a prison riot to have him killed. In the confusion, Richter disguises himself as a guard and escapes, eventually fleeing to Hawaii.

1991

The sequel part of Hotline Miami 2, detailing the public reaction to Jacket's actions throughout the first game.

  • October 25th 1991: "Homicide" - Manny Pardo interrupts an armed robbery at a shopping center, killing everyone inside.
  • October 31st 1991: "Down Under" - The Fans go out on a mission to attract the attention of 50 Blessings.
  • November 5th 1991: "First Trial" - Jacket is placed on trial. The Writer meets with Petrov to ask about the Hotline murders.
  • November 11th 1991: "Subway" - Evan Wright either goes to the Bar to talk to Biker or to talk with Richter’s mom.
  • November 18th 1991: "Seizure" - Ivan Lebedev's grandson crashes a party hosted by the Colombian Cartel, announcing his syndicate's return.
  • November 21st 1991: "No Mercy" - The Henchman goes on one last job for the Russian Mob, and steals a large amount of money from a street gang in the process.
  • November 22nd 1991: "Execution" - The Henchman's girlfriend runs off with the money. The Henchman is killed by the Fans.
  • November 27th 1991: "The Abyss" - The Writer looks through Jake’s belongings for any clues.
  • Before December 2nd 1991: "Midnight Animal", "Final Cut" - The film "Midnight Animal," a fictionalized account of Jacket's murders, is released, starring Martin Brown and Rachel Vard. Brown, playing the "Pig Butcher" appears on a talk show to promote the film.
  • December 2nd 1991: "Moving Up" - The Fan-mobile breaks down.
  • December 7th 1991: "Blood Money" - The Son targets a bank where the Colombians stash their money.
  • December 9th 1991: "Into The Pit" - The Fans attack junkies and some Russian gangsters.
  • December 10th 1991: "Dead Ahead" - Manny Pardo meets with Alex, after which he leaves and goes to the docks where he goes in guns blazing. He goes to the crime scene.
  • December 14th 1991: "Takeover" - Lebedev's grandson destroys the Colombians and takes over their HQ.
  • December 20th 1991: "Death Wish", "Apocalypse" - The Fans raid Lebedev Jr's HQ and Mark, Corey, Alex, and Ash die at his hands. Lebedev Jr, hallucinating heavily, walks off the building and dies. Tony is captured alive by the police, but murdered by Manny Pardo.
  • Sometime between December 20 1991 and December 28th 1991: "Caught" - The Detective visits another crime scene, and experiences a vivid dream of his discovery as a serial killer. He is summoned to the police station, but barricades himself in his apartment.
  • December 28th 1991: Martin Brown makes another talk show appearance. (Alternately, The Writer appears on the show to promote his book). Both Presidents of the US and Russia are assassinated. Nukes fall all over Hawaii and Miami, killing everyone as World War III begins.
