- "Wet Painters" played with it incessantly. SpongeBob and Patrick are painting a house filled with valuable collectibles. Cue Murphy's Law, involving a paint bubble.SpongeBob: Barnacles, what could be worse than a giant paint bubble?!
Patrick: Ooh! I know! (produces a bubble wand, dips in into the paint, and blows another giant paint bubble) Two giant paint bubbles!
SpongeBob: No!
(the bubbles collide and form one MASSIVE paint bubble)
SpongeBob: Patrick?
Patrick: Yeah, SpongeBob?
SpongeBob: I don't think this bubble could get any bigger.
Patrick: Nonsense! (produces a bike pump to hook up to the paint bubble, inflating it further) - "Pizza Delivery" show you can't even be sarcastic without resulting in this:Squidward: AAAND THE PIZZA'S COLD! OH, THE PIZZA'S COLD! NOT THE '''PIZZZZZA!''' Oh, how could it get any worse?! (kicks their boat that is out of gas, which rockets back up to a full tank, and DRIVES AWAY ON ITS OWN)
- In "Squeaky Boots" just before SpongeBob goes to bed with his boots on, he says to Gary "these boots have changed my life. I’m never taking them off.", though the former's gonna have to some time. Sure enough, 8 seconds later, Mr. Krabs appears and swipes them off.
- In "The Secret Box", SpongeBob is snooping around the sleeping Patrick's rock, trying to sneak a peek into his secret box while trying not to wake him. He ends up making various noises, though Patrick manages to sleep right through... but then SpongeBob quietly says, "Gee, Patrick sure is a heavy sleeper," causing Patrick to wake up for real.
- In "I'm With Stupid" as SpongeBob is getting ready to act stupid for Patrick's parents, Gary questions him about it; SpongeBob replies, "What could go wrong?" Something will go wrong indeed — Patrick begins to think SpongeBob really is stupid.
- In "SpongeGuard on Duty", SpongeBob outright attempts to thwart fate by changing his wording mid-sentence. The bad news is that Fate is quicker on the uptake than he is; the good news is he just narrowly manages to avoid being Too Dumb to Live.SpongeBob: I'm every bit as cool as Larry. And if I'm not, let me be struck by... (thunder clap) ...a flying ice cream truck. (Cue falling ice cream truck.) AND LIVE! (Ice cream truck suspends in mid-air just above SpongeBob, then falls on him.)
- In "Slide Whistle Stooges" after Squidward destroys the Chum Bucket on his rampage through Bikini Bottom in a stolen truck, Mr. Krabs pokes fun of Plankton and Squidward promptly drives through the Krusty Krab.
- In "Sandy, SpongeBob, and the Worm", when Sandy manages to lasso herself and SpongeBob onto the Alaskan bull worm she claims that up there they'll be safe, then a second later the worm dives into a trench.
- In "Jellyfish Hunter", after the jellyfish are free from the activating door (in a factory Mr. Krabs runs that consists on squeezing the jelly out of every jellyfish) thanks to Mr. Krabs inadvertently setting off the voice activator of it, he brags about the jellyfish being unable to catch him as he tries to escape by pedaling on his bike...only to realize that he's pedaling on an immobile exercising bike. The herd of jellyfish then proceed to zap the greedy boss to a crisp all at once.
- In "That Sinking Feeling", when SpongeBob and Patrick's digging causes the Krusty Krab to fall underground, Plankton gloats that the Chum Bucket is now the only restaurant in town. The Chum Bucket promptly also falls underground, and when he sees what happened he lets out a dejected "Nuts."
- In "Just One Bite", when Squidward tries to sample a Krabby Patty, but to no avail.Squidward: What do I have to do? Eat one out of the garbage?
Fish: I wish I could eat this, but I'm so darn full. Oh well. (throws his half-eaten patty away)
Squidward: I had to say "garbage"...BUT OKAY! - In "SB-129", Squidward is locked in the freezer at the Krusty Krab, leading to this:Squidward: Oh, well, someone will realize I'm gone and come looking for me. I'll be out of here in no time.
(narrator reads a card that says "2000 Years Later") - In "A Pal For Gary", SpongeBob, while going to bed, claims he can sleep peacefully now that Gary has a partner to keep him company so he's not lonely while he's at work. Cue Gary barging into his room in fear from Puffy Fluffy and waking him up, prompting him to berate him.
- In "I Was A Teenage Gary", after going through the ordeal of Gary being sick, Squidward comments "I hope I never see another snail again". Sure enough, ten seconds later, he encounters the transformed SpongeBob.
- In "The Camping Episode," after being told everything that can make sea bears aggressive (and it is a long list), Squidward, who is adamant that sea bears do not exist, decides to do all of them just to prove it. Unfortunately for him, the sea bear turns out to be real, and it mauls him quite brutally several times.
- In "Krusty Towers", Mr. Krabs transforms the Krusty Krab into a hotel and instates the motto "We shall never deny a guest, even the most ridiculous request". The first guest to take the business seriously is Patrick, who indeed goes on to make arduous and/or humiliating requests. Then Squidward takes advantage of the motto by quitting his job and asking to stay in the hotel, with Krabs and SpongeBob having to comply with his own requests.
- "Survival of the Idiots" involved SpongeBob and Patrick stuck inside Sandy's Treedome for the winter, ultimately prompting them to take off her fur to keep themselves warm. No sooner had they said "Bring it on!", however, than spring immediately appeared.
