Tear Jerker / Scooby-Doo: Monsters Unleashed

  • Old Man Wickles' advice to the disguised Shaggy at the Faux Ghost (before the Mood Whiplash kicks in when Shaggy brings up Mystery Inc., anyway).
Wickles: Get outta this game while you got a chance. All of us here ain't nothing to admire. We needed people to believe we were different than we were. Maybe 'cause... we believed that there was something wrong with who we were in the first place.
  • Shaggy and Scooby reflecting on what their goofy actions have brought upon Coolsville and the gang.
Shaggy: This Evil Masked figure is turning Coolsville into Ghoulsville, and the gang is totally taking a hit for it. This is the most our faultiest screw-up ever, Scoob..
  • Scooby and Shaggy thinking they weren't good enough to be on the team. This really motivates their actions through the movie since they want to prove they are good enough.
Shaggy: I'll tell you one thing for sure, Scoob: they don't need our help to figure it out.
    Scooby: We're screwups.
Shaggy: The only time we ever do anything right is when we accidentally plow into the Snow Ghost, because we've accidentally glued our feet to rocket-powered roller skates!
    Scooby: Eight stupid times!
Shaggy: Face it, Scoob, we'll never be anything but our old goofy selves. I wish once... just once... I could do the right thing on purpose. You know, Scoob?
    Scooby: Yeah.
Shaggy: Like, be a hero. And save the day. But who were we kidding, right?
  • When they go back to their old clubhouse, they sadly remember how easy it used to be.
Daphne: We solved mysteries for the love of them, not to prove anything to anyone.
  • The scene where the Tar Monster has each human of Mystery Inc in its tarry clutches. Unnerved, Scooby is trembling and calling out to his companions who are completely at the villain's mercy. It's sad and terrifying to see Scooby so helpless as he watches the people he loves near death, unsure of what he can do to save them.
    • This then leads into a Tear Dryer as Scooby proceeds to take down the monster, defeat the main villain and save the day all by himself.
