  • Dorothy's nightmare at the very beginning which depicts her being dropped right into Cruella's skinning machine. Doubles as Nightmare Fuel.
  • On top of that, the rest of the Dalmatian family rendered restless due to the trauma of being nearly skinned alive overwhelming them.
  • Shortly after, they find out that Hunter is right outside their door, causing them to panic. Dolly and Dylan then remember that Hunter can understand dogs and may have very likely overheard Dylan voicing his lack of trust for him. One of the next pages shows a tearful Hunter walking away.
  • Delilah's nightmare is both this and Nightmare Fuel: She paces out of her and Doug's room upon suddenly noticing him gone and is met face to face with the silhouette of Cruella implied to be wearing clothing made from the former offspring's and her husband's fur.
  • After the Dalmatian family learns of Alfred and what he "supposedly" does to dogs and other animals, they explode into another fear-induced panic. Dylan tries his very hardest to keep everything under control and calm everyone down but eventually starts to emotionally crack from all the pressure. Luckily, Deepak comes in to help.
  • The aftermath of the whole Cruella situation seems to have even hit Da Vinci in a bad way as well, as the first time we see her, we find she's more reserved and resorted to staying alone in a room. One page reveals that she's painting a figure that evidently resembles Hunter surrounded by demonic arms.
  • The implied possibility that Hunter's parents are dead.
    • A page separate from the comic itself seems to possibly confirm this: Said page depicts Hunter sitting alone in the corner of an empty room, a photograph of him and two adults (very likely his parents) lays on the floor with the top half burnt off, leaving the adults faceless, accompanied by some dialogue. The last segment of text expressing Hunter's guilt:
"I had one... I lost it... And I nearly took yours..."
    • It has now been confirmed that Hunter didn't have any family before the Dalmatian clan took him in, as he reveals it to Alfred as he gets questioned. Poor kid.
  • Delgado getting captured by Alfred when the former tried to help Dolly and Dylan when rescuing Fergus.
  • After Delilah and Doug leave to try and get Delgado back, Dylan, unable to take anymore, attempts to deadlock the house and go find them himself, not wanting to lose anyone else, leaving it up to the others to restrain him. Dolly fortunately manages to talk him into stopping himself.
  • Hunter explaining to the Dalmatian family that he's "adjusted really well" to living off of preservatives, all the while Dolly discovers an empty room containing shoddily made mannequins made to resemble humans sitting in a table. It really cements just how lonely Hunter actually is without anyone to care for him.
  • The fact that the majority of the Dalmatian clan still initially fear and despise Hunter (including Dorothy and Delilah), not helped when he is brought into the household and is met with every single one of the puppies' eyes on him. You can even see two of the Dimitri Trio glaring at him.
  • Before he meets Da Vinci, Hunter laments miserably on being unable to "do an apology right" before uttering "Hashtag USELESS."
  • Delilah finally snapping at Dolly and Dylan when interrogated on why Hunter can't stay, "Because he's a De Vil". The outburst scares all of her younger pups, which she instantly regrets.
  • The whole segment where Hunter and Delilah finally talk things out. The former accidentally lets it slip that he's had to resort eating from the garbage for sustenance, leading to Delilah firmly promising to take him straight to the hospital, causing Hunter to question why Delilah would help him when she and her family (in his mind) should loathe him for what he did. He had initially thought that Cruella's idea was to raise the family like sheep (shaving their fur off for her coat rather than outright killing them) until his aunt finally revealed her true colors.
Hunter: (Tearing up) "Great Auntie took me in, but all she ever cared about was her stupid coat! She sent me out to find you... I thought once I did, she'd be grateful and I'd get back some semblance of what I lost... a family. But I know now, she never had what I wanted, and I didn't know it was at the cost of yours!"
    • Delilah is understandably shocked to realize that Cruella didn't even have any heart for her own flesh and blood (Hunter) before asking him if she ever hurt him which leads to this heart-wrenching line:
Hunter: "She would mostly just ignore me. If she ever had time for me, it was always to belittle me and make me feel worthless... And in those rare moments when she was there... she made me wish I wasn't."
    • Which is followed by a panel (page image), showing Hunter at the most despondent he's ever looked with hidden eyes, miserably mumbling "I just wanted to belong to someone..."
    • Delilah's reaction to that line as a whole. Fortunately, it turns into Heartwarming immediately afterwards.
  • Delgado's nightmare which doubles as Nightmare Fuel. Even Alfred starts to feel bad for the pup and realizes he took things too far.
  • When Hunter willingly volunteers to go with Alfred to child services in exchange for Alfred never bothering the Dalmatian family again. Luckily Doug and the family don't let it happen, but what Hunter says to them as he attempts to leave is heart breaking.
Hunter: He's right. I don't belong here. And with this, I can help make amends. It was nice pretending with you all.
  • Hunter's answer to Alfred when the latter asks where his parents are:
Hunter: I don't have parents... I don't have a family... I had one... But I lost it... And for years, I've been trying to claw one back... Someone convinced me that they could give mine back to me, that all I needed to do was run "errands" for them. I was so naive, I believed them... But they wanted me to do something... horrible. They wanted the Dalmatians. I nearly took their family... and yet... they forgave me?! They pitied me! And they're letting me stay here. So you see? You're wrong about them! That's the sort of dogs they are! They're better than you! You will gain nothing by hurting them!
    • He even briefly utters out "They're better than me..." during this which only makes it more clear that despite the fact that most of the Dalmatian family has forgiven him, Hunter still despises himself for what he's done.
    • Made even worse when Dimitri 2 doesn't read the room and makes Hunter feel worse for what he nearly did to them by digging himself deeper in his backpedaling.
      • It gets worse when Hunter is dealing with intrusive thoughts in the night, thinking he just made a mistake in joining the Dalmatian Clan, comparing himself to Cruella. However, Deepak talks to him to calm him down.
  • The real reason why Hunter snuck into Alfred's house in the first place: to talk to him about his intrusive thoughts and how they may be affecting him.
  • Alfred later then looks up Cruella De Vil and all her info and does not hesitate to chew her out on the reason why she had been using him the whole time on the phone. And when he figures out she was using his fear enforcing methods to try and scare the Dalmatian family out of city limits, Cruella is quick to remind him of all the terror and emotional destruction he had caused through his whole ordeal with them, combined with the fact that had his methods actually worked, then the blood of the Dalmatian family would remain on his hands. All of this causes the poor guy to resort to laying on the floor "Where all the refuse and litter falls and belongs...".
    • This alone makes Hunter's line of not wanting to end up like Alfred all the more poignant due to just how close Alfred had been to letting Cruella slaughter the Dalmatian family much like Hunter had done, and both of them are now suffering from the guilt of it.
  • With everything having gone back to normal (for now), Dylan is able to get back into cleaning... except he ends up so deep into it that he completely forgets to have fun all together.
  • The flashback of Doug and Dylan getting shoved away from the Museum of Natural History due to the "No Pets Allowed" rule. Made more disheartening on the fact that it happened on Dylan's birthday.
  • Over the course of the comic, Alfred had hallucinations of a ghostly dog whom chastised him for what he has become. When he unknowingly says the dog's name, 'Dorothy' within earshot of Hunter and Delgado, the latter is quick to point out how he has a sister with the same name getting Alfred to finally reveal that the Dorothy the old man knew was a beloved dog from his own childhood.
    • Right at the start of the following flashback, we are shown that Alfred had parents who seemed to care more about their wealth and patriotic status than their own son. Not only that, but Alfred at the time was restricted from talking to anyone but his parents, rendering him lonely... at least until he met Dorothy.
      • However as Alfred later gained the ability to speak to Dorothy, his parents started to notice this the longer he hanged out with his beloved dog until he was taken to a psychology ward and ended up Mistaken for Insane, the page that reveals this has an absolutely heartwrenching panel showing poor Alfred being forcefully dragged away to a mental asylum as all Dorothy can do is pull against her leash to try and reach for him.
      • The real kicker comes however when after spending six months in said mental asylum, Alfred returned to find Dorothy gone, having escaped to on the night after his taking to try and find and rescue him. He waited at home for god knows how long under the belief that Dorothy will eventually learn that he's been released and will come back to him so they can run away together. She never returned... His parents even disallow him to say his dog's name ever again. This is what finally caused Alfred to snap and rebel against his parents.
