There are some of these in this game. It seems like CyberConnect2 made it their job to try to make us cry while playing the final Storm game.

    Main Game
  • Kakashi's reaction when he starts putting two and two together and deduces Tobi's identity. Then the mask breaks and Kakashi's face screams Broken Pedestal. The fact that his old friend doesn't even bother explaining himself before Kakashi asks is the icing on the cake.
  • Neji's death comes as abrupt as in the manga, sacrificing his life to protect Hinata and Naruto.
  • Obito's entire Start of Darkness is playable. It's hard to not put yourself in his shoes when you control him as he trains with the Zetsu and later slaughters the Mist Ninja after Rin's death.
  • Obito taunting Minato, his sensei, as he says he always found him a bit clueless and that he's always late or not even there for life-changing events.
  • Obito seeing himself as Hokage after he's defeated by Naruto and Sasuke, showing that deep down, he regrets what he's done even if he doesn't want to admit it.
  • After Kurama is extracted from Naruto and Naruto slips into unconsciousness, he falls through images of several events in his life up until now. After he lands on the ground, a light shines upon him and Hinata calls out to him, repeating her Rousing Speech from when he almost gave in to Obito's Breaking Lecture and reaching out to him. Naruto reaches out and tries to take her hand, but he falls unconscious before he can do so.
  • Rock Lee's face of despair when Guy announces that he'll open the Gate of Death to fight Madara. Madara compares Guy's new form as red autumn leaves falling on the ground.
  • Obito's death as he's disintegrated by Kaguya. He has just enough time to give his chakra and Sharingan to Kakashi before dying.
  • The Final Battle of Naruto vs. Sasuke has a couple of these:
    • The game makes you play all their battles up until now, starting from the Academy until the battle after the Kage Summit, before returning to the present, with both Naruto and Sasuke being so tired that they can't use jutsu and can barely walk or throw a punch.
    • During the final Rasengan vs. Chidori clash, Sasuke flies past images of several important figures in his life, as if he was trying to leave them behind to pursue his goals. Naruto has an image of the entire Shinobi Alliance and Tailed Beasts supporting him from behind. However, of all the important people Sasuke remembers, Sakura is the last one he sees and she's crying, which implies that Sasuke does feel particularly guilty for everything that he's put her through.
    • The Secret Factor. It's a Call-Back to Storm 1, with a young Naruto and Sasuke standing in a shining white background. As their hands reach out to perform the Unison Sign, a bright light shines from their hands and covers the whole screen. Those who have read the manga already know what that symbolizes.
    • The aftermath of their battle is full of emotions. First Sasuke continues to dismiss Naruto's reasoning, but eventually Sasuke himself realizes that by following him, Naruto walked a similar path as Sasuke and suffered similar pain. By the end of the scene, this realization eventually drives Sasuke to turn his head away but his tears are clearly shown.
  • Finish off Kakashi with Adult Obito's Ultimate Jutsu and he'll say: "It's okay, Kakashi. You won't have to suffer needlessly anymore."
  • If you fight as Rinnegan Sasuke against Six Paths Naruto and finish him off with your Ultimate Jutsu, Sasuke will sadly say "I'm all alone now."
  • Rin's Ultimate Jutsu. Her entire moveset is an improvement of pre-Time Skip Sakura's with usage of ninja tools and traps and her jutsu being the summoning of a rolling log. Then you are hit with her Ultimate Jutsu, where the Three-Tails sealed inside her body takes over her and blasts the opponent with a Tailed Beast Bomb, before the collective voices of her friends calling her name brings her back to normal...in a crying state.

    Boruto's Tale
  • Like in Boruto: Naruto the Movie, Sasuke voices his disappointment that Boruto would rely on the scientific ninja tool to get what he wants.
    • The game adds to that by having Sasuke spar with Boruto, with the former telling the latter to use his true power in the fight. Of course, Boruto uses the scientific ninja tool, leading to Sasuke voicing further disappointment.
Sasuke: I told you to show me your true power... (glances at Boruto's scientific ninja tool) ...and this is your answer?
