  • The near-demise of MAD in 2019. After 67 years and millions influenced by their satire, the rise of the internet and decline in subscriptions led DC to fire almost the whole creative staff (many of whom were only hired the year before) and reduce new material to the barest minimum, to the point where the annoucement was reported as a flat-out cessation at first. The magazine is now a shell of its former self, and probably a victim of its own success.
