Tear Jerker / The Assassination of Gianni Versace

Go To

  • In the final moments of "House by the Lake", David Madsen flees for his life as an enraged Andrew shoots at him. He heads into a cabin and for a brief second, it seems like he might have escaped... but then his dad is there, they have a heartfelt moment, and you realize that this is all a hallucination - Andrew shot him and he's dying.
  • In the finale, Andrew's sanity deteriorates as he is holed up in a houseboat, surrounded by the police. In desperation, he calls his dad, hoping for advice, and Modesto tells him to just sit tight and they'll figure something out together. Shortly afterwards, Andrew watches television, and there is his dad, announcing that he is preparing to sell the movie rights to Andrew's life. As awful and cruel as Andrew is, it's hard not to feel a little sorry for him as his dad turns his predicament into his latest get-rich-quick scheme.
    • In the same episode, there is the downfall of Antonio. As if losing his beloved Gianni were not bad enough, he is effectively kicked out of the company, cheated out of his rightful inheritance, and shunned at Versace's funeral service. In the final moments of the episode, he tries to kill himself, but a maid finds him at the last minute.
