General
- Nana's life. Her parents were allegedly murdered by Talented burglars, and she finds their heads. She is then put into a government program to become a child soldier assigned with eliminating the Talented. However, she then learns that her father-figure and superior was the one who murdered her parents and he makes it no secret that he views her as just an expendable pawn he'd discard once her use ran out.
Episode 12
- When Nana asks Michiru why she was such a good person, Michiru explains how she met a girl years ago named Hitomi who was terminally ill and she was unable to save her. After hearing her story and leaving the room, Nana breaks down and seriously reevaluates her mission.
Episode 13
- After Nana is attacked by Rentaro, Michiru uses her life force to save her at the cost of her own. Nana really doesn't want her to be saved, due to her thinking she deserves to die, however she can't say a word to her due to injuries. The episode then concludes with Nana shouting a pained "No," over Michiru's lifeless body, while a comiplation of both of them cheerfully interacting plays over the song "Bakemono to Yobarete" (バケモノと呼ばれて, "Known as a Monster").
- The ending scene can hit much harder to anyone who has owned a pet, especially a dog.
- The lyrics of the song in general when you read the english translation also hit like a truck after this episode, with Nana reflecting her past and mistakes and whether she can be atoned for her sins:
"The meaning of being born

The promised land has long been gone

I would've liked to know love

Manga and beyond
- If Fuuko didn't kill Ryuuji, then why did Kyoya find his blood on her uniform? Because she found him right after he was attacked, and hugged his corpse after his death.
- Moe finally gets to see her grandma again, only to see her presumably dead, possibly even before she was given the okay to visit.
- Everything about Koharu and her twin sister Hiyori. Especially the fact that Hiyori isn't even real, and is just the way Koharu's powers helped her cope with her trauma.
- It's hard not to feel at least a little bad for Nanao when we figure out he's not only nearly gets killed but manipulated into becoming the exact kind of person Nana was set up to kill. He loses his father after learning that the man still loved him despite his harsh and abusive behavior, betrayed by someone he considered a friend, and upon getting revived learns that this very same friend was happy to do so and works under the people who saved him. And then they brainwash him afterward to twist the knife. While he progressively becomes more villainous after his powers grow and start aligning with Tsuruoka, it is understandable since his whole worldview was shattered.
- Shizuka's parents were gravely affected by the changes in society during the Time Skip and ended up taking their own lives. She attempted to join her parents by slitting her wrist, only to discover her ability to travel a day back in time. However, all her attempts to avert her parents' deaths were in vain, and by the sixth attempt, it stopped working.
