- Mike's Break the Cutie moment in Chapter 5 is saddening to read. He snaps at Jo, trashes the wardrobe room, yells at the confessional camera, and smacks Zoey on the arm. Plus, a flashback reveals his parents argued all the time when he was younger and his dad died last year in a bank robbery. No wonder he ends up sobbing uncontrollably on the beachfront.
- Mike almost dies in Chapter 9.
