Of course, a story about racism, ostracization and separation cannot happen without emotional scenes.

    Chapter 1: Lonely Wolf Treat
  • If you interact with the snowrabbit (the one literally made out of snow), you'll get this message:
at least this one doesn't run away...
  • The fact that Treat spent two months living in her cabin, all alone, with nothing to eat except for the occasional cup noodles. If Mochi hadn't shown up when she did, Treat may very well have starved.
    • You'll feel bad for Treat even before the above. The first game wastes no time in showing the rabbits' prejudices against the lonely wolf, especially Juju's.

    Chapter 2: Friendly Bunny Mochi
  • The page image is the ending shot of this game, with Mochi crying into Treat as the latter holds her. The bunny girl has just been evicted by her own cousin Juju after Juju was kidnapped and almost eaten by Salt and Pepper because she insulted them earlier out of rage at seeing Mochi walking around with Moxie. Thankfully, Treat was able to rescue Juju but the ungrateful rabbit still kicked Mochi out and refused to acknowledge her mistake towards Salt and Pepper.

    Chapter 3: Clever Fox Moxie

    Chapter 4: Wandering Wolf Trick
  • In this chapter, we meet Trick, Treat's best friend. They joined the pack five years prior to the series after having lived with a human their whole life. When Trick tries to take Treat to meet this human, they find out that he disappeared without a trace, leaving them behind for reasons unknown. This was one of the few things that could break Trick's spirit, and their expression upon discovering this is heart-wrenching, especially since they're always smiling.

    Chapter 5: Dreaming Treat
  • Treat's dream of the moon ceremony where she's struggling to keep it together under the pressure of having to choose one partner. It becomes sadder when she reveals to Mochi why she ran away from her pack: because she was scared of being trapped in monogamy.
  • After spending a fun day at the beach with Moxie helping Treat to do a Love Confession to Mochi...you're treated to the sight of the destroyed garden at the very end.

    Chapter 6: Mochi in Frosting
  • Treat and Mochi are both deeply affected by the destruction of Mochi's beloved garden. While Treat spends the first half of the game crying helplessly, Mochi remains calm and focuses on comforting Treat as they make their way towards the hot springs... only to start screaming herself hoarse as soon as she is alone. What especially makes Mochi upset is not the attack itself, but the fact that Treat blames herself for it. And it was right after they became an Official Couple, too...
Mochi: Treat doesn't deserve to feel like I'd be better off without her.

    Chapter 7: Lucky Number Moxie
  • Mochi revealing the reason why her left eye is hidden by her bangs: She was bullied mercilessly by other rabbits for having heterochromia, and when it seems like it's leading to a Pet the Dog moment for Juju because she protected her, it becomes more heartbreaking when Mochi reveals it was Juju who told her to hide.
  • As if the previous chapter wasn't enough, Mochi takes it really badly when she learns that her uncle Mango is not actually dead. She laments that her family had been lying to her her whole life and wonders just how many times the wolves have been falsely blamed for rabbits going missing, and remains upset about it for most of the evening. And once again, Treat starts blaming herself over Mochi getting upset.
  • Despite having cut ties with her mother, Moxie is still haunted by the abuse she's gotten in the past, not to mention wracked with guilt over the trouble she caused Mochi all those months ago, to the point where she is seriously reconsidering her role in the trio's relationship. While her multiple failed attempts to flirt with her girlfriends are initially Played for Laughs, they stop being funny when you realize how all those failures affect her self-esteem.
    • If you try to leave without getting the firewood, Moxie will think "i need the stupid firewood first". That one line makes it abundantly clear that Moxie's initial excitement about camping with her girlfriends has completely worn off, and that she is only keeping up the act for Treat's sake.
    • If you try to collect mushrooms even though Treat already gathered some, Moxie starts visibly holding back tears. She really, really wants to feel useful.

    The Bad Endings
  • Chapter 1's bad ending reveals what would happen if Treat hadn't been around to help Mochi. Mochi is trapped in the empty cabin for many hours waiting for Moxie to leave, and comes to agree with Juju that predators really are evil, meaning she becomes just another terrified bunny instead of the All-Loving Heroine we have come to know her as.
    • The fact that you have to play through most of the main story before getting to this point is especially cruel, because that means you've already seen Treat and Mochi grow close to one another and become better people for it. After all that, watching Mochi get angry at Treat over Juju's death is all the more jarring.
