What? You thought this was going to be totally a breeze due to what's being crossed over with what? Well, the answer is still NO. Unmarked spoilers ahead!

Prologue
- Kevin actually seems to be very affected when the Eds fall into the portal. Hence the narration...He stood there for a very long time.
Part 1: I Need You...Like a Hole in my Ed
- The Eds being reduced to an utter panic during the Sabbath. They've been through Hell before, but this was just a reminder of the horror to come. Thank goodness Devilman was born that time.
Part 4: Come, Akira. Scream, Ed
- Ed, throughout the fanfic, shows increasing signs that he's painfully aware of how everyone treats him like dirt and his home life is just the worst. Thankfully, he's still Ed through and through.
- This is especially apparent when he and Kunkun are comforting Miko in this part. He's far more serious than usual because of her woes, for one thing. Still, leads to their friendship growing stronger.
"People notice Ed, but they also yell at Ed a lot. I don't have many friends. I get beat up a lot and...it actually really hurts. Outside and in." - For all the evil he's committed and DOES commit here, Jinmen truly cares for his wife and daughter back at home. Even Devilman, the one who's parents were killed by him, sounds a bit sad when he hears that he loves them...right before he decapitates him, though doesn't really kill him.
- Let's not forget the deaths of Akira's parents, which are just as bad, if not worse because of Jinmen's actual personality as stated above. Even Eddy tries to offer his sympathies.
Part 5: Beautiful Sirene, Unlawful Eds
- Right off the bat for Episode 5, we get to see Kunkun die in front of Miko and Ed. Thankfully, he manages to cut off Pazuzu's tail before he's reduced to pulp. This ends...badly for the demons. This hangs heavy on Ed whenever he's brought up later on, as he dedicates himself to killing even more demons after this. His reaction can be summed up here:Ed couldn't fathom what just happened. His new best friend...taken away from him in a flash. Killed by one of the monsters his pals had been dealing with for some time now. Death was a touchy subject with the dullard. He was subject to seeing a lot of gory film-deaths, but real-life ones in front of him...that was a quick way to get him to shut down entirely.
- Can we just call this chapter "Kaim's Worst Day Ever" and be done with it?
- First of all, when he's confiding with Eddy about his past life, he's obviously very melancholy about how he lost his chance with Sirene, yet he still has hope that he has a chance. Understandably, this kicks off the friendship they later have.
- Next, there's the music he chooses as he does this. First, there's when he's talking about his backstory. Then, he changes the song to a much more somber one and even starts singing to it, about to cry. Eddy's feeling pretty bad for him by the end, though no less opportunistic.
- Finally, you'd think being spared from his usual fate would be nice. Except that Sirene has been absorbed by Devilbreaker and he's left with his failure to protect her. His anguished scream doesn't help. And neither does the music, for that matter.
I failed you...I couldn't protect you. Not even one bit...If only...if only...if only I were stronger like Amon...I really am trash...SIREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENE!!!! (Beings loudly sobbing)
Part 6: Neither Human, Nor Demon, Nor Ed
- Ed's situation, when you think about it. Either throw the race, thus angering Eddy for the umpteenth time, or win against Miko, humiliating her. He picks the first option, ultimately. Thankfully, circumstances prevent this from getting too out of hand. Still, one quote from him that even gives Miko pause and the first step to re-consideration.I'll just find a rock to mope on...Who cares if I have to make Eddy sad...again.
- The poor aliens that are wiped out by Rex Formido in the end of the chapter. The mother and daughter aliens hugging and comforting each-other didn't help at all.
- The simple fact that KING GHIDORAH is going to give our heroes hell is depressing on top of the ending of the Crybaby series. All of this doubles as Nightmare Fuel as well.
Part 7: Weak Humans, Wise Demons, Active Eds
- Jinmen realizing, after he and Ed visit the airport, that his chances of getting back with his family are gone. Say what you will about him, but his grief is palpable.
- Following that, we've got Ed witnessing a child Devilman getting shot to death by the military. He lashes out, defeating them, and is left utterly confused and angry for a time before resolving to fight more demons. It's plain to see how this is all affecting him.
It's not fair...IT'S NOT FAIR! The army is supposed to be the good guy! - Kaim, before joining with the heroes, has a flashback when he and Sirene became best friends. It's both sweet and sad, considering what's been going on.
Part 8: I Must Know Myself and Ed
- Right after the obvious death of Miki's loved ones, we not only get everyone's saddened silence, but Vis telling Edd the awful truth about the loop that God has this world trapped in. His future vision really screwed him up and has been left a suicidal shell using humor as a coping mechanism. It's all one big damn loop! We're trapped in one where we die over and over again and it always ends with Satan losing the one he loves! And he doesn't even know what love is until it's too late! God just decided to punish Satan, but drag us down with it! It's all a joke! ALL ONE BIG FUCKING JOKE!
- Mitigated when he mentions that all the unexpected happenings in the fic, including the arrival of the Eds and King Ghidorah might open up a window of hope.
Part 9: Go to Hell, You Eds (A.K.A: THAT Episode)
As the alias of the chapter can tell you, this is the episode that was bound to earn a spot here.
- Despite Miki and Miko surviving this, Wam and Gabi are still killed off, though not without a good fight. Tako even gets killed off by Devilbreaker in this despite his help!
- The crown jewel of this chapter, as the comments can attest, would be the death of Ed. One of the most heroic characters besides Akira in the fic and this is what he gets. He gets better before the final battle, but geez!
- Specifically, after blowing his top against Devilbreaker's forces, he saves Miki, but has to push past the pain when he's shot. Eventually, he takes the stab meant for her. His final words are rather haunting.
...I did it...I saved the day...I don't feel so good, though...I wonder what mom's making for dinner? THUD!- Everyone's reaction to it is just as bad. From Eddy denying that he's truly gone to everyone else crying over it as Devilbreaker looms over them. Eddy's reaction deserves credit.
Don't leave me, Ed! You're one of my best friends! I take back everything bad I ever said about you! I promise to never do another scam if it means helping you come back!- Edd's transformation to Vishnu is a direct result of this. Not only is it awesome (and a bit nightmarish, considering the final result), but he's obviously torn up and filled with vengeance. The music conveys this rather well.
- Speaking of Edd, we've also got Vis' death. However, it's a much happier one, as Vis has hope for the future and is proud of Edd for rising to the occasion. The snarky demon may be gone, but it's the thought that counts....I'm proud of you, kid. (Vanishes forever)
Part 10: Thinking with Portals and Eds
- Just when things seem to be getting better with the awakening of Vishnu, Yumi's soul is suddenly absorbed into King Ghidorah. Doubles as Nightmare Fuel, but Mikiko's reaction to it and the aftermath are miserable sights. Just when we thought she'd be Spared by the Adaptation. She gets better at the very end, though.
- More specifically, she's willing to fruitlessly fire shots at the golden hydra while shouting "GIVE HER BACK!". Granted, she realizes her mistake, but still.
- A minor one, but Eddy is willing to pull a near Heroic Sacrifice to save Edd and the others from Devilbreaker during the portal incident alongside Kaim and Trax, even if it causes them to hurtle into the unknown. It all works out and Miki states right afterward that they're not dead, but still. After what they've been through, can you blame them?
Part 11: A Sound of Ed
- As one might guess, the Cul-de-sac residents reaction to Ed's demise is a prime example, as they react with disbelief and, even in Sarah's case (especially, actually), despair. The following funeral drives it right home, complete with a storm.
- The funeral in question? He's buried next to the Chunky Puff's factory, Edd can barely get himself to leave after it's all said and done, and the epithet..."Here lies Ed. He smiled for the world, no matter how horrible it was. Kronos bless."
- Oh, and Mikiko places a smaller but no less meaningfully grave for Yumi. She ends up holding Edd in a tear-filled hug for a while. Really drives home the contrast as to how she was at the start of this fic.
- Kaim's Curb-Stomp Battle at the hands of Devilbreaker, set to State of Mine's cover of Rascal Flat's "What Hurts the Most". Just how brutal it is will get to you. Thankfully, he turns it around with a Heroic Second Wind.
Part 12: Crybaby
- Ed's return is more of a happy version.
Epilogue
- In a twisted way, Ryo/Satan's desperate pleas for Akira to join his side, even as he's been Dragged Off to Hell by Red Guy. While it does become more frantic, it still shows that, though the Devilman didn't die in this continuity, he truly feels like he's lost everything...and he's just realizing it now.
- Akira's reaction is just as bad. He really does want to forgive Ryo, but, after all he's done, he feels like this is for the best.
