Tear Jerker / Céline Dion

Go To

  • Céline Dion has sung a few sad songs.
    • Vole (Fly, and is in fact translated as such as a Translated Cover Version), a song dedicated to her niece Karine who died from cystic fibriosis.
    • Goodbye's (The Saddest Word), about fears of having to say goodbye to a mother.
    • Les petits pieds de Léa (Lea's little feet), a song about a mother who lost her baby.
    • Tu restes avec moi (You stay with me), about a child with separating parents.
    • Aside from "My Heart Will Go On" for its obvious connections to Titanic (1997), the extremely heartfelt and passionate ballad "It's All Coming Back to Me Now" can easily bring the tears (especially when paired with its music video), as can "Then You Look at Me" since it is the love theme of Bicentennial Man (and also plays as an instrumental version during the ending's Together in Death moment for Andrew and Portia).
  • Surprisingly and ironically, her contribution to the Deadpool 2 soundtrack, "Ashes", actually works as a very heart-felt piece—especially since it definitely mirrors Wade's story-wide insecurities/frustrations. In the film itself, it even works better (or worse), considering it immediately plays after Vanessa was killed in a crossfire between Wade and the thugs hunting him. (Of course, the fact that it continues into a No Fourth Wall Opening Credits is a massive source of Mood Whiplash—as per the franchise).
