  • In the Cool Kids Table Harry Potter-themed game Hogwarts: The New Class, Alan makes sure to declare that the students boarding the Hogwarts Express are an extremely diverse crowd, a clear knock against Rowlings tendency for characters to only be white or a few tokens. There's also an earlier dig at her when Jake mentions the infamous "one Jewish student at Hogwarts" statement she made.
  • In the Escape from Vault Disney!, "What's the Attraction" segment for A New Hope, Luke pitches a hotel based off the movie that immerses you into the world of the film. However, because of the high cost to build such an elaborate experience and the low demand to base the hotel on a flop film, it would cost $5,000 to stay there. The rest of the guests lambast Luke for suggesting such a ridiculous idea.
  • Mom Can't Cook!: Aside from the constant insulting of the films under review...
    • In the You Wish! episode, they say that Alex tanking his reputation in the new universe reaches "Elon Musk buying Twitter levels" of reputation self-sabotage.
    • In the Hounded episode, both hosts agree that the reason the term BMX is almost never expanded is because calling it "Bicycle Motocross" would make it sound lame. Andy compares it to calling running races "foot F1".
    • Luke compares the set-up of Get a Clue to that of Lost:
      Luke: And it might never occur to you that [the producers] don't know what they are doing.
  • In the first episode of Mystery Show, Starlee's client gets in a few shots at Must Love Dogs, the movie that she rented and wasn't able to return because of the video store's sudden closing. Starlee tries to be a bit more diplomatic about it.
