An Exaggerated example as Keel seems to have crammed every possible pop culture reference into the story, at least one shows up a chapter. If you get a twitchy feeling you recognize some line you probably do. As it would be an exercise in madness to cover them all and eat the entire page the section has been safely sequestered here.

  • To turn into She-Ra, Adora now says "For the honor of Grayskull, Starlight is mine to command". Similar to Jim's Activation Phrase from Trollhunters.
  • Adora and Razz are hardwired to read First One's script which hardly anyone else can unless they have access to the almost extinct translation software. This means they're somewhat dyslexic with modern scripts and poor at reading skills akin to certain Greek Demi-gods.
  • After Entrapta gets her hands on a First One's fabricator she immediately makes a four-limbed harness which helps her move around.
  • A jail-broken Obtainer is directly compared to a Gauna from '''ABARA'''.
  • Light Hopes description of world-ending scenarios is taken directly from the SCP Foundation.
  • More of a Homage but when depicting hallucinations or illusionary scenes the text starts on the right rather than the left; an intentional reference to ''Ra'.'
  • The main protagonists end up naming themselves the Starlight Brigade after the song by Tupper Ware Remix Party
  • Instead of tech chips; Prime uses wasps like the Other of Girl Genius, complete with hive engines!
  • Old Melog paraphrases Koko the Gorilla when saying it will go to "a comfortable hole" when it ends.
  • It turns out a previous Melog, took a few cues from Mufasa along with an imperialist slant coupled with an oppressive Fantastic Caste System.
"Everything the light touches, is My empire.
  • The comments point out that Catra's new Backhand is essentially a Mage Hand.
  • There's a prototype First Ones weapon Catra builds called the Baryon-Fermion-Gravitron Nonagon Kappa, a nonagon is a 9-sided shape while "kappa" is the "K" in the Greek alphabet, that's right Catra has a BFG that's Over Nine Thousand.
  • A snake woman is named Nagaina after the antagonist in Rikki Tikki Tavi.
  • Here Duncan, from He-Man, has the full name Duncan Idaho.
